Calling my shot, DJ and JT (Spieth is a given) will suck it up during Ryder Cup and one of the rooks, my choice Scottie Scheffler will be solid. As will Harry English.

Have to disagree. If JT sucks it up, I’ll be the first one here to admit my mistake. D.J. I could see. Scottie is the wildcard, could go either way. I think we take the cup, and JT will be a major factor in that.

I don't know. It's playing like a cold, windy, links course. In other words, like a typical European venue
The US has got to toughen up and get a grip. Wind, rain, drought, whatever. Just play the damn game and quit over analyzing everything. It will be fine. We are more talented, period. Are we more prepared? Who knows. If that’s the problem then we have more problems than windy conditions.

That was exactly what I posted in a few threads. It is NOT playing to long hitters. Wrong time of year. Usually this time a year, it will be a little cooler, and the big thing is windy, being right on the lake. It favors the Euros, I do not see how everyone keeps saying "The long hitters will do well". Greens will also be slow, and the rough up.

My only reasoning for JT not doing well is solely based on how he is playing right now. The last few tournaments he just did some uncharacteristic JT things, not driving it well, even having trouble with the putter. JT is super talented and has been a rock in Ryder Cup, it was solely based on what I have watched recently. Pulling for him to put it all together, when he is on, forget about it.

We HAVE to get out and jump on them early, can't fall behind 4-1 or anything like that, at worst be tied after day 1. That will set the tone for the rest of the tournament, IF they have a bad first day, it will only snowball. There is just too much I's and mot enough US as in TEAM, not US FOR United States. I really feel one of our biggest problem is team unity, along with strategy. Work on those two things and correct, no way they should lose. There is way too much talent on this team, just have to get results and use that talent.

It's weird to think that this has been delayed twice in the last 20 years. It was on odd years, except for being canceled for WW II. It got canceled in 2001 because of 9/11. It stayed on even until it was canceled last year. Now it's back to odd. I don't want to see what happens in 2040.

So Bryson will only play the Fourball? Right?
I can’t seem him out there for alternate shot.

Spieth and Thomas can't make a putt ... Spieth putting terrible in particular.

That was about as good a start as the US could have asked for. I wonder if you should sit Koepka in the afternoon since he is coming back from an injury and there were questions if he would even be able to play.

Helluva shot by Speith on 17 from that lie...
Yeah but unfortunately JT missed the par putt. Would've been huge to somehow MAYBE squeak out a half point after being down all morning in the match. Oh well.....3-1 USA after the morning session is a great start.

Spieth, Koepka, Berger, and Morikawa are sitting the afternoon. I like sitting Spieth and Koepka but thought Morikawa should have played.

I like the idea of everyone playing Day 1. Get everyone out there and see who's playing well.

Agree though tough keeping Morikawa out in the afternoon. Think I would've kept JT out instead.
