It’s a cut throat game anymore. Non Stop recruiting. Tuff on the older ones

It’s like some will sell their soul to just win a game anymore In these days & times. A game..

Crazy!

Yea he's still near the top of his career but he didn't win the West last season which could be a sign that he's sliding a little. He could leave now and be a lock for the HOF and in many eyes the greatest college football coach ever. He may not want to tarnish that with going out after one or two mediocre seasons.

His 'underperformance' can probably be traced to the turnover in his staff year after year. Hard to have new OC, DC, other position coaches, etc. every year.

He'll immediately be signed by ESPN at 6 figures to be an analyst and finally enjoy all that money he's banked. Most likely, the CFB GOAT with a very short list of contenders (if any).

I'm not trying to put Saban out to pasture but he has staff turnovers every year and that hasn't prevented them from dominating the West.

If Saban isn't the gold standard, who is? He's the GOAT and until someone wins as many championships as he has, then he's still the gold standard. You might want to rethink your comment

What mess are you talking about? Carter is no longer on the team, neither is Stetson. I really hate the kid was a victim of drunk driving, but it happened. If anything, UGA will be better defensive in 23, lb unit will be best in country, DB will be very good as will DL. UGA returns 14 starters off NC Team. Of course I expect them to be good, if the QB is just decent I think we go 12-0 in regular season. Why wouldn't l?

It be interesting once he does retire who Bama hires .

It was thought they would try for Dabo for awhile, but he is such a weird guy I think they will pass on him. If things keep going well for UGA I am pretty sure they approach Kirby. Hopefully he isn't interested in moving. But whoever it is won't be able to live up to its fans expectations and most coaches know that.

But I think they approach Dabo, Kirby, Day, probably Lincoln Riley. Norvell could get a call if all in that first group pass, Stoops name was mentioned by several programs this past season, I think he is right on the edge of being in that first group and one of the top 7-10 coaches right now, maybe higher. Of course they could hit the NFL again and I don't know very many of them.

Saban should have retired after the loss to Georgia in the first title game they played.

As it stands now, if he can’t win another, and Georgia makes a run under smart, it’s going to destroy the legacy of goat that he had.

The biggest problem older successful men have, is they rarely know when to hang it up.

I think the first call they make is to Kirby. I know Kirby played at UGA. But UGA isn’t Alabama. I think he’d be offered an insane package, coupled with the Alabama job, I don’t know.

After that they’d have to offer the house to Dabo unless they’ve got something lined up unforeseeable. Possibly NFL.

You might know more about this than me, but I just don’t see Kirby staying his entire career at Georgia. He’s winning too quick, and the nfl, Alabama type job etc, I just can’t see him calling it a career where he is now.

That poses the question in my mind, should (or could) the NCAA establish salary caps for coaching staffs? To me there seems to be something inequitable about schools being able to purchase their way up the ladder.

I think there should be. We need some kind of balancing act or this will end at a bad place. But the legalities of it I’m not sure.

Kirby likes being married, wife is home, less than an hour from family. Got to keep mama happy. But as you said Kirby, if we keep winning, is likely their first call. But if he left, it won't be because of money. UGA pays coaches, well football coaches, as well as anyone.

Next head coach at Bama is not going to meet fan expectations and likely fired within 3 years, why would Kirby want that job?

Free cars and PEDs can accomplish that.
Lol, you keep on believing that....free cars are part of NIL now....what deserted island have you been on lol??? You don't think players at UK have gotten free cars or that PEDs haven't been used before?? If so, then I have oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.

He is the GOAT and hasn't been unseated from that status from any other coach
...yet. I'm going to guess if UK could lure Saban here to coach, that you'd be all about that and all of a sudden he'd be the greatest in your eyes.

What program do you follow?? Btw, Jeremy Jarmon was booted for a GNC vitamin from UK. Bama was bending the cars and peds rules long before NIL.. He lost yo ULM his first season.

UK literally just got busted paying football players for no-work jobs at the hospital. Literally less than 12 months ago this happened. Our 2nd best offensive player was suspended 25% of the season.

And by the way, good for Stoops for finding ways to take care of his guys however he can.

Shame some outsider bean counter got hired at UK hospital and made this courageous moralistic stand, over a few thousand bucks. God knows UK hospital bills Medicare and medacade perfectly, never ever gets paid $1 over what they are owed from taxpayers.

the product Jeromy got wasn't "from UK" he bought it from a local health food store. Players were warned to check the labels of nutritional substances and maybe Jeromy just forgot or didn't notice it.

I composed that sentence incorrectly. I meant to say “booted from UK” after having a GNC-type vitamin.

No, the NCAA cannot establish salary caps for coaching staffs. That is illegal under current antitrust laws.

The NCAA attempted to do that in 1992 with some assistant coaches and got their *** handed to them in court.

If you want to create a blanket cap on coaching salaries, then you’ll need new legislation to enable that.

Just staff & program representatives drinking & driving killing players, as well as themselves!

Which has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. The young lady broke school policy by using the vehicle provided for her recruiting job, used it for personal use and paid for it with her life, you expecting to see a notice of UGA firing her or billing her estate for the vehicle. But I think you bringing up a terrible accident as an example of recruiting violations is something you should make you very proud.

Thank You, Master, for telling me what I must do, from a Dawg fan on a UK board.

Sorry, only one Master in my eyes, His name is JesUS.

Blood is on their hands, if you still support it, by all means, knock yourself out!

I never told you what to do. You can post anything you want, but your post had zero to do with this thread. You think anyone on staff at UGA supported her actions? It just said alot more about you than it did about anyone at UGA. And what exactly do you think Kirby should have done? Fired her, billed her parents for the vehicle. She did this on her own, not with UGA support. But if it makes you feel good please continue to associate what this young lady did on her time, not on the clock, with UGA violations. Blood on their hands, who's hands? It was a trash remark made by you and now you are reaching to defend it, doesn't matter what board it was on. You proud of it?
