Nothing is mentioned in the article or on the Laurence website about the Peace campus. One can only assume that the Peace campus is not in the coed plan for Laurence.

I find it a little strange that there will be no girls at all in the class of 2021. That class will be all boys for the next four years, with coed classes on either side of it. I am sure that will result in a situation where there are brothers and sisters in grades 10-12 with sisters who can't enroll as 9th graders next year, but they could the year after next. Not criticizing, but it just seems odd to me.

Keep in mind there will be no girls in the class of 2021. Also, it's probably safe to assume that not all the Peace girls currently in grades 9-11 will transfer in next year. For the next 4-5 years at least, Laurence will be counted as a coed school with significantly more boys than girls.

It is a pretty unique situation indeed, and a temporary one. Frankly, I would hope that the IHSA doesn't get that far down into the weeds on something at one school that is very temporary in nature. Next year, Laurence will be coed. The girls teams will be wearing Laurence uniforms. Hope they just leave it alone.

for IMSA, a school with south,jr and sr classes they divide by 3 and multiply that number by 4 from what I was told. I think the ihsa will do something like that for StL

If they do that, then they should also enact a .25 divisor for classifying Laurence girls teams, since there will be only three classes of girls at Laurence for the following four years starting next September.

Really, it's way down in the weeds. I hope the IHSA doesn't go there. Just treat it as any other coed school.
