Defense played stellar. Much better than expected with the DL and the secondary being the most surprising. Offense did what was expected and it was good to see Bush start the year on the right foot.

Get McKenzie and Deuce healthy, this team easily could win the division.

but the Saints will make the playoffs (barring major injuries). Unfortunately, I rarely get to see the Saints in the Midwest.

some big plays, and Shockey will have a huge year. If Deuce can regain some old form, they will be tough to stop.

Defensively, it was good to see us get pressure with the front four. Vilma is a difference maker, finally some speed to match Fujita's hard-nosed style. And the rookie CB was impressive.

Not a lot to complain about this weekend.

McAllister will never regain his old form. Whether he's healthy or not, he's a shell of the back he once was.

you can tell that Jim Henderson hates Reggie Bush. Wow, I've never heard an announcer so down on one of his own.

I don't know what to do since I don't have Buddy D to to tell me what I just witnessed on the Point After show.

Like patdog say, he'll never be the back he once was. I have never heard of a running back coming back strong after tearing both ACL's. Just don't see it happening.

The defense seemed to be in better positions to make plays today. Vilma is a big, big plus along with Ellis. An inside push was there early from the DL enabling Grant and Will Smith to apply pressure and make plays from the ends. Grant played well but can he remain healthy? The rookie corner (Porter) looks to be a good one. Thank God David is off the field. When Predator gets back shortly, I will feel much better about the secondary. Bullocks is still terrible and Harper needs a GPS to find the ball, but overall the defense has been upgraded.

The offense struggled today but still managed to rack up well over 400 yards. So many options available with Shockey in the middle, Colston on the end, and Bush catching screens and getting in the open field. I don't know what will become of Duece, but I like Pierre Thomas as a hard runner.

People are upset with Bush as a tailback, but his good catch and dazzling run of a swing pass is $$$$$.

I thought Bush looked better than in previous years. He seemed more willing to hit the hole rather than dance around in the backfield. I noticed that the ***** Kardashian was in attendance. He should boot her to the curb, find himself a decent girl, and focus on football. One thing that makes guys like Peyton Manning, Brees, etc. great players is stability off the field. Romo has found that out. Kardashian is a distraction. Also, he is liable to catch some STD that the disabled list has never seen before.

Defensive additions have helped: Vilma, Glenn, Gay, Ellis, McCray.

I really like Pierre Thomas. He's a better runner from the backfield than Bush is. Really helps fill the void left by Deuce. I can't believe some team didn't deem him worthy of a 4th or 5th round pick.

Saints are talking to Cedric Benson. That means they are extremely concerned about Deuce's ability to give them 10-15 carries per game for 16 games plus playoffs.

Don't remember even seeing Meachem.

Shockey is nice target for Brees.

The rookie cornerback, Porter has real potential. Hopefully Usama Young will develop.

Reggie still looks careless with the ball. He has had fumble problems during his first 2 years. I expect that to continue.

Not sure why, because I thought he looked good in preseason. I would like to see him get some game experience. He is a deep threat. From what I've heard he has trouble learning the plays.

Maybe if Sean Payton has a good season coaching, he'll be worthy to become Head Coach of America's team after Wade Phillips retires.

P.S. did any of you catch Howie Long praising Ed Orgeron? The D-Line DID play better yesterday than they did last season.

Porter looked like a vet rather than a rookie. He could end up being the single biggest addition this season and that could be saying a lot if Vilma and Ellis continue to play like they did yesterday. The passing down package with McCray looked very good as well but I'd rather see another CB in there rather than Bullocks as a 3rd saftey. What about Charles Grant? He hasn't looked that good in ..... maybe ever.

The offense seemed a little out of sync, Brees wasn't as sharp as he usually is but I'm not worried about that. well over 300 yards and 3TDs and he seemed a little off. This offense will be special.

Duece will be back and will make valuable contributions this year. With Thomas playing that well, I say keep bringing Duece along slow and he will be fresh and ready for the second half of the year and playoffs. The same could be said for McKinzie but I think he is closer that Duece.

It was good to be back in the Dome. You don't always realize how loud it gets in there. I was in the restroom when Devery caught the long TD. I thought the bathroom walls were going to crumble from the noise vibration

Well, I guess I am. Favre said he never would have been a good QB in Atlanta because he was too busy drinking, partying, and chasing tail. In Green Bay he settled down and started watching film.

Peyton Manning said he spent his first few years in Indianapolis watching film and studying the playbook. He had a girlfriend who was not around. He had nothing to do but concentrate on football.

Pacman Jones chased ***** tail with troublemakers and he got suspended.

So there are 3 people who said it. I just repeated it.

I would say that Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, Chris Henry, etc. would be proof that instability off the field can affect performance on the field.

Roy Hobbs sucked when he was dating a *****, but did really well when he was seeing his sweet highschool girlfriend.
