WR Brandin Cooks from Oregon State. Cooks is going to be a bad *** in the league but I was hoping for defense. Denard and Ha-Ha were both still available. Not disappointed though, he will be a sproles clone from the wr spot.

Why would we draft Ha Ha? We have the #1 safety in the league and a guy who was in the running for ROY next to him. If anything it would have been a corner, and there are a couple in the running for around our 2nd pick.

Because Rob Ryan uses 3 safety's very frequently and after Byrd and Vacarro there isn't anyone. Ha Ha Byrd and Vacarro would have been unreal. Rob used a 3rd safety like a lot of teams use a 3rd corner so drafting a safety or a corner in the same spot would have been equal. I'm not disappointed by cooks because I think he'll replace more or less replace sproles and also be a deep threat. I thought they'd go after a big body receiver to pair with colston and possibly replace him down the line.

Rafael Bush isn't nobody and we brought in Champ Bailey really ONLY to be a 5th DB.

I would have been pissed if we drafted a 1st round safety, and not because Ha Ha isn't great, but because we REALLY needed a WR or CB and we could have gotten a BACK-UP "3rd safety" in later rounds or after. Saints just brought in the #1 safety in the league and put him next to a stud 1st rounder and then you dismantle the chemistry of that unit by bringing in Ha Ha? No thanks. I'll take Cooks and a CB in round 2.

We're set skill wise. Now I'd like to see us grab a corner, OLB, and maybe a DT. Mortgage everything this time next year for Colston's replacement.

I liked the idea of Dix but Cooks will step right in and start over Stills. Rob Ryan ran a lot of shell 5 last year and I can see it again this year with the way they've created the roster: Lewis, Byrd, Vaccaro will always be out there, Bailey plays a lot of zone at this age and then Raf Bush, Robinson, and White rotate in depending on down/distance/matchup. Vaccaro in this scheme is basically like a Joe Lee Dunn DOGback and within 5 yards of the line. You can also see they have beefed up the line backers because they run so much 5 DB they are less concerned with pass coverage our of a LB. I wouldn't be surprised to see against 2 WR sets Lewis go man on the #2 and Byrd/Bailey box the #1 leaving Vacarro to roam but few people run 2 receiver sets now. I'd like to see some line depth and youth at LB but can't have everything (and I've no clue whats available in FA)

All of that obviously assumes health but looking at the roster its fun to predict.

We will use Cooks all over the place, similar to Sproles(minus the runs up the middle).
Stills, Cooks, and Colston can play at the same time.

Exactly. All this talk about Stills moving to back-up is crazy. Stills and Cooks will complement each other well, as Stills fits more of a Henderson/Meachem role than a slot role. If anything, Meachem is cut before the final preseason game.
