Anyone wanna talk Salem football?
big test the next three weeks.
actually could be a great team.
QB: One or two reads, can dink and dunk, can run. Solid. Physically strong.
RB: 9 speaks for himself. 36 never seems to disappoint when he has his reps either
Fullback: 7 and 31 are strong. Good lead block, decent run ability.
line play: physical. Needs to clean up mistakes. Mental. But they have the right mindset. They don’t seem to be very nice guys.
d line: strong interior play. 78 is a boulder, 75 one of the physically strongest kids to ever play Salem football. D ends are solid(still play a little tight imo, but that’s a coaching thing, I’m sure the coaches have a good reason but with the olbs and de playing very tight/ head up on last guy of los it looks like we are making our guys win track competitions against the other team, but I’m not a defensive minded person just something I’ve noticed the past few years, it is possible it’s sound defensive alignment and I just don’t know)
linebackers: seem to change mikes a bit. 31/66 are in there. Seem to be doing well so far. Olbs seems to change out too. 9 is strong. Not good at reading defense.
Db: 6, 20, 36 look competent. Not good at assessing db competency. Seem solid. Not sure competition has been solid so far.
Another year this team could easily be a 10-0 regular season Salem team. Strong competition this year means they will need to play mistake free football to make that a reality. But I do genuinely believe they can with the right mindset. They do have the playmakers and size to be a very competent Salem team. But they have to make it happen. Next three games could be 0-3 or 3-0. Im not confident enough to make any claims either way.
