Makes it to campus and pitches or pro ball?
Pro ball
Personally I'd like an update on draft day '27 please sir and let us know how it turns out. Until then, he's not on my radar

97/98 mph fastball lefty with control of 3 pitches which apparently makes him a top 10 prospect. If that is accurate and it holds, we don't have that much NIL. Nice recruiting though.

I wouldn't be surprised under this coaching if State starts to get more guys to campus that could've been drafted high. Completely anecdotal and not based on any research from their UVA classes. Just something I do think could happen. Not saying this kid specifically makes it to campus, but I think we're going to be on the right side of the draft more under this staff.

Remember, Bauer's control wasn't there and that kept him out of the 1st round. Supposedly, Solerno doesn't have the control issues. I'm preparing myself for him to go pro and will be pleasantly surprised if he makes it to campus.

I do agree that I think we will start hanging onto more high end signees than in the past.

I don't have the metrics in front of me, but I bet historical data shows that the chances of the #1 HS LHP actually going to college to be pretty low.

Historical data did not include NIL...at least almost all of that history. If we're gonna play that game (NIL), then the smart move is to give him an attractive NIL, but more importantly, give him an insurance policy that pays out the kind of money he'd get for his projected draft slot.

One thing MLB money alone can never buy is the joy of playing college ball at a premier program, especially ours...an experience like no other. If we guarantee the kid's financial future, we can offer an experience he could never get if he goes MLB instead.
