Man, to flip on the tv and see Jack's name... deservedly so... painted permanently on the court.

the Cristil Coliseum. I think that would be a great tribute to him and his more than half a century service to this university. These types of figures don't come around very often, so I think something more than naming a court or a pressbox after him is what he deserves.

May the smartest of you add to this list...
  • Let HWY 12 be properly named "Jack Cristil Blvd." Let there ALWAYS be reference to it by that name, not HWY 12.
  • Let there be a "12 tall" Bronze statue, on a "8 tall" pedestal. So damn large, the kids will mistake it for the Statue of 17'in' Liberty. May the Flagpole Flop end there.
  • Let there be a day of celebration on the anniversary of his birth, and a day of fasting on the anniversary of his passing.
  • Let there be one last location that smoking cancer sticks remain sacred, on campus. Name that location after Jack Cristil.

Naming a pressbox after him would be appropriate, but I bet 10% of students on campus even know the pressbox at DWS has a name, much less whose name is on it. He deserves something far more visible. <div>
</div><div>BTW, the designated smoking area would be awesome. Every time I saw the guy, he was toking away on a cancer stick cussing up a storm about a parking spot or telling students stories from way back when. </div>

If "Wrap it in Maroon and White!" is not already trademark protected, I strongly suggest you have the legal dept see to it. Strongly.

So many times things like this is done after they are gone. Do this and all the other things mentioned now so Jack can see it and know how much he is loved. He probably already does, but I'm sure he would get a boost seeing it.

How about this? The Man spent all of his 58 years in the pressbox at Scott Field, I say we rename the Pressbox: :"The Cristil Box"!!!!!!!!!!!!(Nothing more pretty than "Crytsal").And have ahuge sign displayed on front of the stadium where he sat and called the games.Enough said.......</p>

no reason to and honestly, I never want a new arena. There could be some things done to make the Hump nicer (concourse, luxury seating, etc) but it's perfect for us. And it's ridiculously loud.

I happen to agree with you, but I thought it was in the 20 year plan to build a new arena. I like the Hump, and I love how loud it is when we have a team worth cheering for. We don't have the fanbase to sell out a ton of games right now, and frankly, if I'm our Athletic Department, I'm putting most of my eggs in the football and Mullen basket while he is here. Renovations and some upgrades couldn't hurt in a few years though for the Hump.

We have a brand new basketball only practice facility, and agood basketball arena. Sounless your Ben Hansbrough, that's enough for most recruits to want to come to MSU and for us to stay competitive.

but I really think the AD should push to include the phrase in our lexicon. I think it would be awesome if you could establish "wrap in maroon and white" or just "wrap it" as the standard msu greeting for fans. "Go dawgs" is a little to generic and noone really says it anyway.
