Recovering.

We may see him by the middle of the season, maybe. Or he may play in 4 games and take a medical redshirt.

I was surprised he was questionable. That means on 4th and 1 at the goal line against Iowa he could come in…theoretically.
None of the guys listed as questionable have played in either game so theoretically yes but realistically unlikely. Especially with the way our RBs have done so far.

Shouldn't need them this week. Possibly a few plays to get a little game time if they are ready.

Brown can play in four “regular season” games this season and still play next year. He was a beast at times when healthy…and is a true “big back.”

Agree. There’s only one ball and with the increased passing there’s no room for him to contribute in any meaningful way.
A healthy Sam Brown is definitely our best option on 3rd/4th and short. Healthy Sam Brown is elite and earned the starting nod over Kyle.

Not sure if Sam can ever get back to that level tho. Fingers crossed....

In the meantime, our backs are quite good.

Understand that view, but that’s a very limited role and too predictable in playcalling. And being small in short yardage can be just as effective as being big.

Don’t think he sees the field unless garbage time or RB injury

Agree to disagree here, Raymond > Brown.

agree 100% Raymond has next level vision, great balance, very good burst of speed, changes direction very well.

Brown, at his best, is a solid back with speed and power and looks great lowering the boom but would rather give Raymond the rock 20x a game as his production would be higher

He has been on the sidelines fully dressed with heavy braces on his leg. Doubt he plays anytime soon, but he's definitely around.

Greg said it himself in one of his pressers, that Sam wasn't really in the conversation right now due to his recovery. I'd think this would be a redshirt year.
