He missed some guys in the first half who were wide open. More of an athlete than a QB.
Turns out, it’s not that hard to just hand the ball to a tailback.
He sailed more than a few balls last night, whereas Shapen connected on crucial big passes.

He is not a good passer but his toughness, competitiveness and leadership qualities are pretty damn good.
He’s a phenomenal athlete playing QB. And like @BoDawg.sixpack said above, you put him in a Mullen offense he’s unstoppable.

That was biggest surprise to me. Well, that and ASU refusing to rotate another safety over to help the right corner & safety who got abused when we went 2WR right & 1 left all night. I thought he improved as the year went on last year. But he looked just as bad last night as he did a year ago.
Yeah after watching them against Northern AZ ...their secondary is just plain bad ...poor scheme and they can't cover.. if they couldnt cover Northern AZ receivers ..I knew we would have opportunities...... I know Lebby wanted to establish the run .... but dayum there were receivers open all night...

Crazy that he probably can't legally buy beer, but he can make $3.2 million in NIL. He's a stud and has a lot of tools to be developed, but he's not a complete QB yet.
He played all of last year and went to the playoffs. Hes got plenty of experience.
You were right. That first& last TD pass were 2 of the easiest throws a QB can have. Although Shapen did have to do a good job of stepping up into the pocket to avoid the pass rush on the last one.

I think he's a good player. Not a great passer but hell of a runner and athlete. He kept many of their scoring drives alive with his ability to scramble.
