I don't like reading things like this because it leaves the impression that he thinks that the fans aren't behind him. Then again, when you read threads like one on this board from this weekend, you can understand why he may think that. I hope that isn't the case. People criticized a certain former coach(and rightfully so) for creating an us against the world mentality on the team, in which the world includes the fans. Nothing excuses him for creating that kind of culture on the team, but some people apparently never consider what we as fans sometimes do to help foster that mentality.
I'm sorry, but he continues to make the same mistakes over, and over, and over again. There was an article in the paper that said Reilly pulled Nick Gates for two 15 yard penalties, as well as Carlos Davis.
Why are Quarterbacks immune from this? I'm not saying pull him every time a mistake is made, but when you are in a situation like we were and he throws that pick in the endzone. His *** should of been pulled from the game for a series.
Just like everything in life if you make a mistakes, there should be consequences. That is the only way you learn from things. If my son runs into the street and almost gets hit by a car. I'm gonna let him know that I love him, but he is gonna get punished so he will think twice before making that mistake again.
Not taking him out after that bone head play, and then later immediately pulling Gates and Davis after their bone head plays.... To me that just doesn't seem right, and what happens is a resentment for one another. You can't punish a lineman for making a mistake and then let your quarterback make one mistake after another.
If Tommy throws another interception like he did against Wyoming, they need to sit him for a series or 2 to let him think about it.
You get what I'm sayin' here? There is nothing Tommy has to worry about if makes mistakes, so why should he care?
