Basically, he was drunk or high or both, running windsprints in an alley behind a bar and decided a grease disposal truck driver was blocking his way. He then opens the truck door, throws around the older driver and attacks him. Driver sprays mace, Sanchez keeps coming, so the driver stabs him 3 times. At least 1 stab in the chest. Sanchez goes back to bar bleeding. Police find him and he went from critical to stable condition in the hospital. He is 17ed.

I’m guessing if the mace didn’t stop him there was more than just alcohol in his system.

Will he still have a job when he gets out of the hospital? Broadcasters have been fired for a lot less.

I didn’t like the way the spent oil guy was eye fûcking me in the alley while I was running a wind sprint to win 20 dollars.

If he is wind sprinting in an alley he isn't drunk, that's cocaine.
Reminds me of a story the Undertaker told. Back in the day, he was sharing a cheap hotel room with the Iron Sheik. He gets woken up at 3am to a commotion outside the window. The Sheik is swinging those 75-lb clubs of his like there’s no tomorrow.

I was watching the Herd a couple weeks ago when he had Sanchez on and I said to my wife I could tell Sanchez was on something. He looked awful.

Who is she?
His wife. She stars in a new Hulu series that debuted last week about a crazy former college All-American quarterback, Chad Powers.

Then the next week, her real life crazy former college All-American quarterback gets stabbed after a coke-fueled street fight with a 69 year old truck driver.

The fact that the second sentence is from real life and not the TV show is kind of ironic. (I'll await the ironic police to correct me now)

The truck driver is suing Sanchez and Fox arguing that Fox is liable using respondeat superior. For our legal experts, are there grounds for that in this case? It’s not like he was at work when it happened. He was in town for the game but not actually on the job.

I don't know nothin about nothin legal, but I do know the Heavy Hitters of the world like to throw shiit on the wall and see what sticks. So I'm sure his legal team convinced him they might as well try to include Fox and hope they settle.

Lawyer getting the extra bonus from FOX settling out of court. Sanchez won't have much they can sue for.

Unfortunately you don't really need grounds, you just need to be able to get past summary judgment. Fox will probably be willing to settle for something more than nuisance costs because of publicity. Most likely, Sanchez was done with work for the day and not going to and from a work site and not acting within the scope of his employment. But he was probably at the bar with other fox workers. Plaintiff's attorney will allege that the nature of broadcasting makes "homework" required and that on the road, that work often happens watching football in bars and/or discussing aspects of football with coworkers in the bar. Occasionally, you take a break for a key bump and a few alley windsprints, but that's not a long enough break to take you out of the scope of employment. It's more like walking to and from the water cooler during the work day.**

If Sanchez has significant assets, they'll probably take a settlement from Fox to pay for the litigation. If Sanchez doesn't have assets, maybe they hold out for a long shot jackpot from Fox depending on whether there's something that can get them past summary judgment.
