Ive seen Illinois play 5-6 times this season and they haven't looked like a very smart team in any game I've seen. Gonna cost them this game.

Hey guys I think IL should go directly at Clingan some more. Might score once if they keep trying it. I mean if it doesn’t work 7 times keep trying right?
They would get in a shoving match with NC St big man.

UConn goes 1/18 from their starters not named Clingan, you can’t score going at him. They’ve turned down like 6 wide open triples to try to score against him. They had a chance to be up 10-12 if they played smart. Instead hey let’s drive right at him and throw up something that resembles a prayer at the backboard over and over and over.

I have no idea what Illinois is trying to do right now. They just keep passing up decent shots to go right into Clingan. Only thing I can figure is that they’re hoping to get him in foul trouble, but the refs have basically decided they aren’t calling anything at the rim on both ends so far, and he hasn’t been called for one yet. It was time to adapt several minutes ago at this point.

I'm just following the score as I watch my Braves demolish the Phillies. Is the defense that good or the offense that awful?

Their coach said that was the game plan. Go right at him and also said they were going to keep doing it.
Mission accomplished.
Absolutely brilliant strategy. Not sure if you’re joking or if he really said that.

Not sure if I admire a coach going out with his boots on or not but it’s certainly a strategy. 😂😂💩

I do feel that if Z had a full season and was coached properly (someone other than Cal), he could have been a much bigger contributor.
Certainly more playing time would have mattered. But when you cannot defend or jump to block a shot he is hard to "hide."

IL just doesn't want anything good to happen for them. They get a lob with 3 seconds left and he tries to lay it in falling away?! He had plenty of time to catch if and go up strong.

Not joking. Said it at the timeout when they talk to the coach on the sideline.

Even the female reporter questioned his strategy. And just like Cal, it pissed him off. Said he was going to keep doing it.
And he has. A real Dumb@$$.

I haven’t honestly watched much of Illinois this year, so I don’t know what they did to get to this point, but I’m not impressed with Brad Underwood’s gameplan today. Trying to run their whole offense by posting up and driving to the rim when the big guy in the middle is the anchor to UConn’s defense. It hasn’t worked yet, but they’re still doing it to start the 2nd half.

Idk, some of these teams just don't seem like they'd have made it NEARLY this far 10 years ago. Maybe I'm just a bitter UK fan. But this Illini team just looks bad. Houston didn't look like a supposed 1 seed. Ncstate. Duke no where near its top squads in the last 15 years..

Maybe it's the talent being so spread out. I just feel like I'm watching so many teams that would have been not only blown out by past UK teams.. but several past UNC teams, Duke teams, Kansas teams etc.

This fact about teams in the tournament this year just adds to the frustration of KY fans.

It should have been really easy to get to the FF this year with the amount of talent on our team.
Another huge missed opportunity.
