Really interested on the numbers. Specifically Rita. They need to weather the storm coming off of a 3-6 year along with Rice 8-1, Marist runner up and even Laurence back in play.

What time is the test at MC for the Beverly kids? Asking for a friend.

Not too many, if any, Seton fans on this board, but I'm sorry to see that the Arch announced their closure yesterday. I'm sure that HHSTF is quite happy since that's one less small private school to knock Herscher out of the hoops playoffs year in and year out.

Here's what I don't get, though. If they are closing because of low enrollment, why not wait to see how they did on the entrance test in just a couple of days? Maybe this was the year they would have turned it around. Why would Seton spend all that money this past fall on marketing materials, salaries, open houses, etc., only to announce a few days before the big test that they are closing? Huge waste of money. Makes no sense.

Do you think MC will benefit given its relative proximity to Seton?

Seton might send a few kids out to MC, but I wonder if they were about 60 M / 90 F? Marian and even Bishop Noll might get a few people from that too, but I would imagine most would probably tough it out at the Thorns. A JRW "residency" might have saved that school (Leo, are you listening), but they probably had enough of the us-against-the-world mentality, as exemplified by the Seton B-ball team a few years ago.

It's funny how all of these schools that have knocked us out of the basketball playoffs over the years are slowly all closing... Maybe put more emphasis on education and less on putting together all star basketball teams they might still be open...

How long until Leo and Hales follow this trend????

If logic dictated it, Leo and Hales would have merged, and so would have Seton with St.Francis DeSales as an interim step. I wonder if Leo and Hales cater to different "cliques" (this is also the rationale for CPS keeping a large number of low enrollment schools open).

I would think deSales would get many of the Seton kids. Back in the 70's we used to get a lot of Dolton/South Holland/Calumet City kids.

Leo has a ton of alumni support I would think Hales would go before them. Really not extremely familiar with either situation.

last time Marist got to final in 09 the next class as frosh in 10 was the Gronk and Welker class-their best team on paper in '13 as seniors. Last time Rita didn't make playoffs before this season was '12-the next season's frosh are now seniors and not a very strong class. Can usually trace these things
