and throw Zach Neal, juco transfer from Howard College (teammate of Runey Davis). He is a RHP who is 1-0 with a 6.60 era. OU's 2nd and 3rd starters have much better numbers so it will be interesting to see if we are catching a break by OU just sticking with a regular rotation and throwing a pitcher with better numbers against TAMU Corpus Christi. OU has really played a soft schedule so far.

RPI update: Mississippi State #12 and Oklahoma #24 (13-1) per warrennolan.com.

UCLA #8 (10-0)
TAMU CC #222 (7-4) but 3 wins are against non D1 and are not counted by warrennolan.com

to playing UCLA. The last time we played them was in the CWS and won. We've also played OU twice before, both being in the '92 regional (which, ironically UCLA was in as well). This is gonna be like a flashback of 1992! I remember BJ Wallace struck out like 17 the opening game of the regional vs Nichols.

with the 89 regional. Leading OK in the championship of the winners bracket game like 5-0, we blow the lead and get shut down by Damon Gardner who transferred to OK from State. Vomit.

think we won 7-5 even with that. The damn ball just disappeared into the night and it was still rising.

but at first glance, they don't appear to have beaten anyone any better than we have.

by an OU pitcher in that 92 game. Can't remember his name. We were 2-0 (after BJ Wallace's extraordinary shutdown of Nicholls State) and leading OU 5-0 I think (may have been 5-2 by that point). Two men on, no out. OU brings in a reliever who twitched his arm as he got prepared to throw and as he looked in for the sign. State crowd was rocking - picked up on the twitching immediately and began counting it off. I swear once he got up to 20 plus twitches before a throw. He got out of that without surrendering a run, they come back and beat us and then we play flat against UCLA and go home.

I don't know how that kid did it....everyone in the stadium against him and he delivered.
