Strictly hypothetical, but say we were undefeated right now, where would we rank? And do you think we would jump Boise, TCU, and Utah to play for the national championship if we won out?</p>
we're behind a 1 loss Bama team if we are undefeated. We're in the same conference, no way that would happen. We would have beaten AU, UK, UGA at home and FL/LSU on the road. I think we're sitting right where AU is.

wasn't a few years ago Texas and Oklahoma both had 1 loss and Ok's 1 loss was to Texas, but OK went the NC?
We wouldn't have been in the top 10 when Bama lost @ South Car. They would be ranked ahead of us with the experts saying "it doesn't really matter because they play each other next weekend"
That was really why I was wondering. Auburn began the season ranked so they really didn't have that far to go. I was wondering if we would get the respect that Auburn is now even tho we began so far out of the top 25. Thats why I think the polls are bs preseason and early season. Teams should be placed in the rankings based on how they play not how people think they will do before the season starts.
...because they BOTH had one loss. If we only had the LSU loss, then beat Bama we could still be ranked below them (see South Carolina). But if we are both undefeated in the same conference, same division AND both having played Florida his season (ours on the road) we are ahead of Bama. So essentially, we have Cam Newton and Miss State is a national title contender.
