McConnell now sets the agenda for the Senate. Unless he places the replacement on the agenda, it does not see the light of day. After that delay, Grassley oversees the Senate Judiciary Committee. After that delay, Republicans have 11 - 9 majority on the committee. Just saying this could be a hell of along process if Obama elects to go with a very liberal person.
Grassley has been a bit easy on Obama selections on judges. Graham has taken position previously that a President should be able to name his people to positions of power. And not sure how strong Flake is. Repubs have shown more of a propensity to crumble than have Dems. Do we have to put total reliance on Senate to block or run the clock on this appointment?
