Interestingly, my wife now works with the guy who wrote that article. She was kidding him about that article and it turns out, the guy knows absolutely nothing about sports. The Bama paper had some space to fill and asked him to write something. He was trying to be funny when he wrote that junk. He's actually a nice guy and took his ribbing pretty well.

May not be as widely popular a sport as football, but I am for damn sure proud of the baseball we play at MSU and yes, Ole Miss. Meanwhile the big schools in Alabama continue to suck balls for the most part. Hell even USM has been to the CWS somewhat recently. So blow it out your *** with Alabama being so high and mighty. And this is why I dislike the OM vs MSU rivalry so much. Living in another state its easy to see how silly our rivalry is. To everybody else we are indistinguishable. The butt of jokes, underserving to be in the SEC, on and on it goes. So what do we do? Turn each other into the NCAA, steal recruits, belittle each other. Crabs in a bucket is what we are. It only makes sense to work together for 364 days of the year for the betterment of the state of Mississippi. Its us against the world people. Flame away!
