Not a Bulldog topic, but the great can't miss prospect of Spring Hill, Arkansas that had Hog nation riveted during his recruitment is getting close to falling into the dust bin of college football history. Had he remained in Arkansas, he would probably be Petrino's #1. Sometimes, these transfering QBs act like guys trying to switch lanes at the check out counter. Sometimes queue discipline helps.

I never understood why he chose USC in the first place. I understand his not being happy at Arkansas for whatever reason and I understand wanting to play at a top program, but there are plenty of other places he could have chosen where he would have been the man right away.

it was popular belief around here when Mississippi hired Nutt that he didnt know how to coach a good QB and Mustain was going to show the world at USC what a bad coach Nutt was

To be fair, Mustain was one of the top overall recruits the year he signed with Arkansas, and while his stats weren't spectacular during that 8-0 run, the team was still 8-0. That being said, I agree with Mr. "Queue Discipline" above -- why transfer to USC?

Yep, as a QB you can't play around with your chances to play. I know, Matt Cassel, but QB is the one position where you are either the man or you're basically 17ed barring injury. It's good if you aren't going to shy away from competition when you sign the first time, but if you lose the job that time, you can't toy around when you transfer. You have to choose a spot where you know you're going to start immediately after sitting out a year.

Transferring to USC just proves that Mustain obviously thinks he's bigger than he is.
