Yes, I think so.The Lock Haven Open 2 is on the schedule for the same day as VaTech, wonder if we see Figs in the dual and Jax at the open?
I understand Ronnie going for LR. Don't understand Jax skipping Seidel or Ayala, we really need him to beat Iowa. My best guess is that with minnow intel being 50/50 this is one of his wrong predictions.Mineo saying VT will be Figs w Jax hitting an open. No clue what his sources are but he hits more than he misses…
Jax won’t redshirt this yearThat’d be disappointing to miss out on Jax v. Seidel but oh well.
My thoughts exactlyYes, I think so.
What I don't understand is why Figs didn't wrestle senior night. Let Ronnie test himself against Seidel instead
Yeah, that’s the confusing part of the choice last night. My thoughts exactly
My guess is he will wrestle Ayala to make 8 matches. He needs to get 3 matches at an open the jackrabbit open at SD st is next weekend that will be 11. And then 4 at Big 12 is his 15 for an RPI so he doesn't miss out on those points for seeding at NCAAsI understand Ronnie going for LR. We might see them put Rin, Smith or Steen out instead of FigsYeah, that’s the confusing part of the choice last night.
Frankly, I don’t care to see Siedel and Figs. But it would tell us more about Ronnie.
I hope they don't put Rin against a guy known for turnsWe might see them put Rin, Smith or Steen out instead of Figs.
Facts...with the Twins arriving and current roster, I do not see Rin ever being routinely in the line up...
Maybe at 125 after Spratley is done. To be honest I have not seen him wrestle enough to know if he is getting better in folkstyle. He has wrestled in Worlds for Japan but wrestled has not this year in anything. If he is not injured, it is hard to understand. Yes 133 to 149 is packed....with the Twins arriving and current roster, I do not see Rin ever being routinely in the line up...
I really don’t see Rin ever being a starter unless there’s an injury. Rocklin Zinkin or Ignacio Villasenor will most likely be the starter at 125 after Spratley.Maybe at 125 after Spratley is done. It will be either Ronnie or Jax. There is no upside to use figsYeah, that’s the confusing part of the choice last night.

So Ryder is shutting it down? Figured we would see him in a brace and give it a go since a medical would be out of the questionJust reading tea leaves but it wouldn’t surprise me to see Jax hold the shirt now that 84 may be a NQ. Jax is a cherry on top for 25-26, not the cake. Wrestle RR and then look to RS him next year if Jax can make 33 again.
I’m not saying he is shutting it down. He’s a tough kid. If he can compete at Big 12’s then we’ll see him imo but I can’t see him being very effective at all. Who knows. So Ryder is shutting it down? Figured we would see him in a brace and give it a go since a medical would be out of the question
Hope he can and does well . Always like him and his family they're good peopleI’m not saying he is shutting it down. He’s a tough kid. If he can compete at Big 12’s then we’ll see him imo but I can’t see him being very effective at all. Who knows.
But wouldn't Ronnie then be out of redshirt? It will be either Ronnie or Jax. There is no upside to use figs
Yes he's used his 5 dates. If he wrestles again his RS is pulledBut wouldn't Ronnie then be out of redshirt?
And then there'd be no reason for Jax to go to opens to get more matches. Seems to me if Jax is the guy there might be more value in seeds from beating Seidel than from obtaining RPI ... although I think he should be able to do both.Yes he's used his 5 dates. If he wrestles again his RS is pulled
Would only be able to do both if he waited until the following weekend and missed the Iowa dualAnd then there'd be no reason for Jax to go to opens to get more matches. For sure. Don’t think I’m rooting against him.Hope he can and does well . Always like him and his family they're good people
Thought there was a last chance open after. Was there nothing this weekend?Would only be able to do both if he waited until the following weekend and missed the Iowa dual
Last day of the season is the day of the Iowa dual. Only 2 weekends remaining. Yes Greyhound Open in Indiana was todayThought there was a last chance open after. Was there nothing this weekend?
Yeah I checked those brackets this morning hoping.Last day of the season is the day of the Iowa dual. Only 2 weekends remaining. Yes Greyhound Open in Indiana was today
Agree. Beating a top 10 guy (I believe Seidel is #6) is going to boost your potential ranking more than going to a open and getting a couple of more wins. Not having 15 matches just means you cant be ranked top 4 at nationals, correct? And then there'd be no reason for Jax to go to opens to get more matches. No, it’s about qualifications for NCAAs.Agree. Beating a top 10 guy (I believe Seidel is #6) is going to boost your potential ranking more than going to an open and getting a couple of more wins. Not having 15 matches just means you cant be ranked top 4 at nationals, correct?
How many 133 spots would the B12 have without Jax?No, it’s about qualifications for NCAAs.
The big Xii’s will allocate a certain number of spots at 33. I don’t know that number yet, but say it’s two?
If Jax were to get upset in the semis, he wouldn’t have enough matches to earn an at-large and would miss the NCAA tourney and lose a RS.
IMO, it pays to get the surefire path to Cleveland AND it may get another Big Xii guy a shot at Cleveland.
So, it’s smarter for Jax and better for the conference for him to Wrestle the open.
They aren’t released yet.How many 133 spots would the B12 have without Jax?
Sorry I was looking for a prediction. They aren’t released yet.
Jax will allocate a spot for the big 12 regardless of his 15 matches for RPI. He would allocate with his coaches ranking and winning %. If they're chasing 15 matches it's for an RPI for NCAA seeding. Even if he lost both matches to Seidel and Ayala hes 7-2 and has a .777 winning % and you need a .700 but that sometimes moves to .710 .720 .730. He will be top 10 coaches poll easily even if he lost twice . Those 2 things allocate for 133 at big 12sNo, it’s about qualifications for NCAAs.

And he prob gets just high or higher seed by beating Seidel, Ayala and Lakin as he will by getting 15 matches. Seidel is undefeated so beat him you prob jump his seed.Jax will allocate a spot for the big 12 regardless of his 15 matches for RPI. He would allocate with his coaches ranking and winning %. The Lakin comment confused me I think you meant Larkin but Jax won't be wrestling him . I agree with head to head being worth 25 and RPI 10 winning the head to head will definitely seed him above Seidel. But for seeding you are pointed out against each guy individually. My opinion they should wrestle Jax against Seidel and Ayala and not worry about an RPIAnd he prob gets just high or higher seed by beating Seidel, Ayala and Lakin as he will by getting 15 matches. Yes I missed the r ... Kyler. Why won't they wrestle? The Lakin comment confused me I think you meant Larkin but Jax won't be wrestling him . Thinking 5 without a Jax allocation.Sorry I was looking for a prediction.
Looking at the WS predicted list I see no problem with Jax getting by 3 of the top 4 B12 Qs much less then next two so I see no reason why he needs to qualify a spot for the conference.
If he doesn't have an RPI he would have 2 of the 3 criteria needed which would make him silver. Having all 3 makes you gold. If for some reason he went 0-2 he could still get in . But it would depend on how the other conferences ended up. Jax going 0-2 at big 12s also isn't happening. The big 12 should get 7 allocations at 133 with Jax. Frost Larkin Serrano Farber Andrick Willochell JaxExplain this better if you don’t mind.
Prior to conference tourneys, automatic qualification spots are announced. So, say 33 gets 5 spots, cool.
Jax goes 0-2. Does he get in without an open?
