When I look at the scheduling over the next few years, we seem to have figured out how to do it right. Barring a true upset, after the 2010 season, we should go 4-0 in our nonconference schedules. This leaves us with needing only two conference wins each season to break even and go bowling. I see us doing much better than that in a couple of years and playing for much better bowls. I believe that Coach Mullen is the right man to lead us to what I believe will be one of the best eras in MSU football history. Here are the schedules for the next few years taken from the Ninja's Thursday e-mails:

<font style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff" color="#000000">If what I believe will happen takes place, we will have to substantially raise Coach Mullen's salary from the $1.2 million to a more competative level such as $ 2.5 to $ 3 million a year to keep him.

We also should raise Greg Byrne's salary from what he is now making--a little under $ 200,000/year--to at least $ 350,000. He is the lowest paid AD in the conference right now.

I'm sure some of the idiot fans that we have will complain- "But I want to see us play a real team. It's boring to watch us beat someone 45-10". To them I always say- if you want to watch us play a "real team" non-conference wise, wait until Dec. or Jan and then you'll see it happen. And to them right now I say this- I hope you've enjoyed our season thus far.

As far as Byrne- That's an atrocious salary for what he does. I second the raise.

I'm sure you'll have idiot fans pitch a fit, and you'll probably take some shots from some of our fans that are jealous when you're playing nobody and we're having to play Texas in a couple years, but that's some good scheduling.

No need to compound an already difficult SEC schedule with a difficult OOC schedule. Plus, if you can schedule enough gimmes OOC, you can go to a bowl game with only 2 conference wins. In the long run, that's the best thing you can do for your program.
