TSUN loves this guy's dirty draws and he NEVER won a MNC and had a horrible bowl records, yet they both won league titles. Bob is better and Bo is considered on of the best ever.

You are a Texas fan, why are you so obsessed with OU and its coaches and players? Go to your own board

From a guy who grew up in Michigan (me, a Nebraska fan at the time), Bo was the real deal. In the 70's, Michigan football (and really Big 10 football as a whole) was all about winning the conference and then the ultimate prize... going to The Rose Bowl. That was the mindset of those fans back then. Get to the Rose Bowl, you were big daddy. Bo was highly respected. Not sure what the OP remarks are all about. Two totally different historical periods in CFB. But poster rkhufu isn't exactly the smartest troll we've had around here.

:)

If a pedophile says you have good looking kids, it might sound good on the surface too.
We aren't talking about a child molester here. If the OPs username had been blocked, people would see the message for what it is. But instead of attacking the message, people are simply attacking the messenger for really no reason.

Look I agree the OP is a whorn and has posted alot of garbage threads before. But this thread is not one of them.

Actually, I was thinking exactly the same thing a couple of days ago. Schembechler and Stoops have pretty similar career patterns--nice conference records but generally miserable in bowl games. I don't think it's an unfair analogy whether it's coming from a Horn fan or not.

Comparing Stoops to Schembechler is about like comparing Bear Bryant to Mack Brown. Uh no.

There could be several things to compare. The most obvious is that for half of Bo's career at Michigan, there was seldom anybody besides Ohio State that was worth a darn in the Big Ten. Michigan annually played a weak in conference schedule. and in those days, there were seldom more than two teams, occasionally three in the conference that were anywhere close to .500. And they didn't usually play much of a non conference schedule. In comparison to Bob, who not only faced a tougher conference regular season schedule, but also went 6-1 in CCG's. Bob would clearly have it tougher, but in different era's, hard to measure.

And forget that Bob played for sure in the NC game four times and won one. Bo never won an NC. I don't remember their playing for one. They might have in the infamous year of the 10-10 tie against Ohio State, I think in 1973. Migth have been 74. I could look it up. Bob's teams have been elite. And yes fans, making the final four is elite. Michigan did play several times against teams who were playing in bowl games for an NC. Never beat them.

But I thought a good way to measure would be their records against non conference teams who won 60% of their games or more. Bo's teams against those teams was 12-23. Bob's is 25-14.
I know people claim that Bob's teams have taken a step back in the last six years, but in those times, we faced home and homes with Florida State, Notre Dame and Tennessee. And went 5-1. The seasons where it fell off were mostly because of injuries that were tough to overcome.

Bo was a very good college HC. But he's not in Stoops' class.

I kind of have a 'soft spot' for teams that OU has beaten to win MNC's (except for FSU) and of all the traditionally good b1g programs I despise them the least.

Plus Michigan's fight song is the same tune as Tulsa Hale where several of us matriculated oh so many years ago.
