Last night Pierce and Stanton passed bonds. Plainview's proposed bond failed miserably. Pierce's include an activity center and Stanton's a gymnasium. I believe Stanton's is for an auxiliary gymnasium, not main competition gym.

What were some other school bond outcomes?

I was told Centura's didn't pass because a large part of the money was going to be used to build new offices for the administration

Plainview won’t get passed until they get Osmond and Creighton to merge with them so some of the taxes fall into three groups instead of one.

Plainview might not get one passed until they have a different superintendent. Think a lot of voters voted no in spite of current leadership.

He can be an alum and still be bad at his job. That is something I think more schools need to keep in mind. Just because they were from there doesn't mean they have the schools interest above their own. Look how well it went for Nebraska and Scott Frost. DOCTOR Arlt is a prime example of that. He essentially ran that bond into the ground with his posting on Facebook of simple stuff that should have been fixed years ago or could be a simple fix. They turned off their comments on the posts of the school which was smart but also too late and people were already frustated. I do not foresee Creighton going with Plainview anytime soon, but Osmond for sure is going to have to join them or Pierce and the way it is trending would almost have to be Plainview since they are already in the co-op process.

It also comes down to board members. lol folks who argue with the auditor on the audit. We should all question their “financial prowess” if they are on the board.

Merging and then, spreading that cost amongst additional property is a much better avenue, if need be for new property (buildings). It also addresses teacher shortage and administrative shortage too.
