To say atheists and other non Christian individuals have no morals or objective standard of morals is dead wrong and appalling to this religious Christian.
I didn't say no morals. No objective standard of morals is an absolute fact.

God is the objective standard.

You say God is the objective standard. And yet even though lots of people believe that, they still hold different moral codes. If God is the objective standard then wouldn't all God-believers have the same moral code?

I think the best you can do, from a rhetorical perspective, is say "God is the objective standard but we can't know for sure what moral code God wants us to follow, so I'll take my best guess."

If God exists is must be the objective moral standard. If He does not exist, well...eat, drink, and be merry; for tomorrow we may die.
Right. All this is your belief. No better or substantiated than another. But you unlike others will not and can not accept that.

Most all religions have many points of similarity on standards of morality. The last six of the Ten Commandments are honored by nearly every religion.

The God of which religion? Any objective morality would have to come from the beliefs of that religion, which is found in a book written by man, and therefore defined by man
Not always written in a book but alway from God to man. As to which God that's a great question--a separate question from God's existence, but fully intertwined with the question of morality.

Since I believe Jesus of Nazareth raised from the dead and proclaimed the God of Abraham to be the one true and living God I have put my faith in the God of Abraham and in His Son, Jesus Christ. He raised from the dead and appeared to many. His resurrection was so clear to the many they went throughout the world spreading the Good News taught by Jesus, most dying excruciating deaths for the cause of spreading the Gospel.

That's factually untrue. The evidence substantiates some claims and some beliefs but not others. I accept the evidence.

If there is a God, he really fell asleep at the wheel when 11 million people were killed, approximately 1.5 million being children. Pffffffft.o_O

Death means God fell asleep?

No, it means anyone with a little bit of logic can't wrap their head around a "Supreme Being" allowing the murder of 11 million people. If everyone were genuinely honest with themselves, they would have to seriously doubt the existence of a God allowing the murder of 11 million of "his creation".

God gives free will. He doesn't violate one's free often. The death of the 11 million is at the hands of the created not the Creator and that's where the blame should lie.

If there is no God why is it a problem if 11 million people died?

So, as somebody else said ... it's your belief that the God you worship (as petty and childish as he is) represents an "objective morality". It's only your belief.

His Son, Jesus Christ? When I said that Jesus was God's son people pounced all over me telling me that Jesus wasn't God's son, but rather God himself, personified.

You folks are a confusing lot. How can you claim that "your" God represents objective morality, when the many different demonations even within Christianity have different beliefs regarding morality? I think you all should probably get that **** all figured out before proclaiming that nobody else has objective morality.

Ah yes ... God created everything, but nothing is his responsibility, but yet somehow everything is his responsibility and he will answer prayers.

And people wonder why I'm atheist.

And what about the Black Death? 75-100 million died, not at the hands of a man or men.

Jesus called Himself the Son of God. Jesus also claimed to be God. I'm not sure what the problem with what you said is.

What is moral and right is widely agreed upon among the denominations. One can divide denominations into basically two categories: those that believe Jesus is the only way to the Father, and those that believe in multiple ways. Within those two camps there is a high degree of agreement.

I'm not sure why people try to have this debate. There is zero change in the minds of a true believer just like there is zero changing in the minds of a true non-believer. I personally think both sides are a little silly. God does or doesn't exist, one can never be truly sure either way. One has to rely on faith, either you have it or you don't. I don't think we're capable of understanding either scenario, I don't bother myself with either belief (existence or lack thereof). I live for myself and those close to me. Works fine. Whatever will be will be...or it won't. Doesn't matter, I serve myself.

Again is death a sign God doesn't exist?

So, He didn't intervene whatsoever, even when 75-100 million perished in the Black Death.
So what is the purpose of prayer? Does any rational person think God will intervene at their request if He didn't intervene in the Black Death?

When 100 million people die, that's a pretty good sign that there is no God. Or at the least, if there is a God, we're on our own.

Maybe he did intervene and prevented an ELE. Maybe the intervention was the introduction of science to the equation, etc. All faith.

That's a far cry from objective morality ... it's relative, even within the same overarching religion worshiping the same God

I have friends who were atheists. One sold his business and now works for a Christian mission. He changed his mind about.

And I used to be a devout Christian.....[winking]

What was it like becoming atheist? Did you have to live in the closet for awhile? Were some of your religious friends and family upset when they found out?

So because many deaths happen over a period of seven years that's evidence of no God or an utterly transcendent God?
