Last year this site posted a few Michigan sites. Are we gonna do that again this year for WF? I kind of enjoyed reading how Michigan was uber pissed they had to play a no-name school.

Does WF even have enough of a football following to have a site like 6pack?

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=192&f=1118 is the best I've been able to find. I guess the upside is that their fans are SUPER excited to be playing us.

I know with Meeshigan they had a really big, active board, and even had a guy break down our plays in every game of the season, I actually learned a lot.

Even better, after the game, I loved going back and reading the recap of their live chat as the game progressed. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about "tacopants."

I also went back shortly after. Some of their posters, like ours, were priceless.

You could almost smell the whiskey and misery through their posts. Then they hired some guy not named Freeze and they are good again.

and they had about 5-7 total posts about the game and they thought that the Hilton Downtown was where the team would stay since it was full. Due to their total lack of interest i didn't post the links.

We have a Wake Forest site on the SBN network -http://www.bloggersodear.com/<div>
</div><div>Problem is 1) They are Wake Forest and 2) Basketball season has started.</div><div>
</div><div>But we will do some stuff with them on For Whom The Cowbell Tolls as the bowl game gets closer.</div><div>
</div><div>Fact: we have never played Wake Forest in football before this bowl game.</div>

Are you saying that you listened to lots of Glenn Beck on your way through MS? I would suggest trying another station, or possibly even XM radio. It's really great for long road trips as it has a very wide variety of programming.<div>
</div><div>I'm serious about not knowing any Wake fans in Charlotte. They're kind of like unicorns. You know they exist, but you never actually see them.

I'm telling you man. I tried to cycle through the AM stations, and all I got was Glenn Beck. NUTS.

I can't tell if you're just oblivious or awful at using hyperbole. Three years in Charlotte, probably the most likely destination for WFU graduates with our strong business program, and you haven't met one? I mean I would be OK if you said you don't approach dudes and ask them what team they watch on Saturdays, but you make it sound like you actively try to know the university affiliation of strangers. A quick google search shows 6,000 WFU graduates in the city. You gotta find at least one!

Also, with all the big swinging dick optimism I've seen on message boards and twitter posts, I'd expect your school to have more than a couple winning seasons in the last ten years. We haven't been great either (fifth bowl game in ten years), but we don't predict 30 point wins.

There's some fuel for the fire. Fight back, State Hailers! Visit our board, too, if you'd like a better pissing contest!

and I welcome it actually. But honestly... you can try to make it sound like we're acting like we're world beaters over here, but even most of the members of your board acknowledge that it's only a handful of people on over here that's acting like that we are above Wake Forest (spelled it right this time). Depending on which board you're going to though, you'll find different type of state douches (mainly on Gene's page).

My sister is a Davidson grad, so I've spent many a day in the Charlotte area. Seems to me that WFU gets the backburner to UNC/Duke and in the past several years, even Davidson. I think that's where the USM comparison comes from. But I've read through your board and no one is talking about the game. All everyone seems to be worried about is UNC getting sent to Shreveport and how funny that is. There are fans, but I get the impression that for the most part none of yall give a damn.

Just seems like the fans have no enthusiasm about football. It seems like everyone on that website has come to the consensus that 10,000 is a good number to bring to the game. I realize WFU is a smaller school, but isn't Charlotte fairly close to Nashville? That's 6,000 right there.

You can call it arrogance, but I like Mullen and our defensive talent with a month to prepare against almost anyone in the country outside of Alabama and LSU*.

*I'm not implying 6-6 MSU could beat everyone in the top 25 except #1 and #2, but something is to be said about giving #1 LSU and #8 USC their closest games of the year. The Bama game was also closer than the points might suggest, had you watched the game. We came prepared for every game except two, UAB and La Tech, and we managed to leave those games unscathed.

Don't judge Mississippi State on our resume over the past decade. If you want a fair assessment, look at us from the end of 2008 to now. Not only do we have a new head coach, we have an all new athletic office and director and a new President who is very young and active in our athletic appeal. There's a reason our coaches are in the discussion for almost every vacancy and all of our major programs are attracting the #1 athletes in the country starting at the same point in time 4 years ago.

Getting a big kick out of reading what these guys have to say. For the most part they're reasonable but there are a couple who haven't done their research claiming our defense is "okay"... Isn't it true that no other team in all of FBS gave up less plays of 30 yards or more than Mississippi State? Not to mention we happen to be #23 in pass defense, which seems to be their bread and butter.

Facts. Wake Forest: ~90th in rush yards, ~40th in pass yards. Mississippi State: ~90th in pass yards, ~40th in rush yards. Defense? Wake Forest:70th. Mississippi State: 19th.

I'm not going to mention strength of schedule or the so-named skill players we faced. Take it as you will. But we have the #2 defensive tackle in the country according to all the draft experts and Banks was a top 10 finalist to the award given to the best corner every year. Vick Ballard is a solid 4th round draft pick at running back, and we have 3 players in the top 10 in the SEC in tackles (2 in the top 5).

It's not a perennial powerhouse name like Michigan was last year, but a bowl is a bowl is a bowl. I'm not going to complain. Never for the rest of my life will I complain about going to a bowl game after experiencing the agony of Crxxms. Even if it means getting fully compared to a 6-6 ACC team.

Jim Grobe has been mentioned for every big vacancy too. We're at least honest that it shows the media thinks we're a second-tier program and a Wake coach should jump for a better job. <div>
</div><div>According to Rivals, you have one 4* commitment from your completed 2011 recruiting class. Where are those #1 athletes?</div>

1) Wake Forest is not located in Charlotte (neither is Davidson for that matter).
2) What are you talking about with the back burner to Davidson? Davidson football isn't even a FBS school.
3) Wake Forest has 4,412 undergrads, not 6,000. As Wake is the 25th best university in the United States, the student population lives all over the country with only a small percentage being from NC. Since the game is over Christmas break, most students will be elsewhere.
4) The drive from Winston to Nashville is 7+ hours.
5) Our board is low on content because we just switched message boards in the spring.
