I miss his voice, man. Reminds me of so many individual things.
Greg Byrne did some really good things, but getting rid of Flick was not remotely one of them....
Any score announced by Dr. Flick at Scott Field was at least 2.5 hours old.
Well there wasn't internet and few games on tv.
Also for you youngsters. There was no video board. So the crowd would listen in anticipation of many of those scores.
This would have got a roar from the crowd...

Funny story…. I was alumni association president of a chapter and Flick was sent to be a speaker at one of our events. I had the pleasure of picking him up at the airport and taking him to the event. I was young and dumb(er) at the time, and I asked him point blank why his calls of down and distance were always so wrong!! He just said something about how hard it was to see from his viewpoint…. Handled it like a champ. And he gave a great speech about keeping the faith, etc. Was awesome to meet him.
