Last week he is seen vacationing in Nebraska and this week he is trying to steal one of our recruits. What will Scott Frost do next -- if he isn't stopped?

Replace Riley when MR can't win titles here... Oh too soon?
That's a good one... :)

But I do have to ask... as much as I want Frost here someday, what is it that says he is going to be the guy who will solve all our problems? He's never been a head coach before. I hope he lights it up, but I still think Riley has the goods to get it done before that time. If / When Frost arrives, how will he be different from Bo Pelini? Some differences will be noticeable, such as a nebraska kid who knows nebraska and the culture very well. A winner as a player, definitely a strong competitor. These are great qualities. But are they enough? What more is needed, and does he have it?

EDIT: I'm sure we talked about this before ad nauseum, but don't really remember...

Listen, you never truly know when you hire a coach if he's going to take you to the promised land. Every coaching hire is a gamble. I would just rather take the ride with a person like Frost, a hometown boy with passion for our state. Even if Riley wins a B1G championship you can just say Oregon St. East won it. This coaching staff is in it for themselves not because they dreamed about winning a championship for the Huskers as kids.

If Nebraska goes through a carousel of coaches of varying abilities and styles who can't get us back into NC firm then we'll have no problem rolling the dice on Frost. At the bare minimum he'll pull in a few nice recruits and institute some TO era practices to get people to feel good again. And he'd have us competing in the BIg.

Remember I'm saying minimum. Not his ceiling

You're not really paying attention if you think the staff is in it for themselves.

Listen, you never know what kind of post you'll see on this site or if it'll make any sense. Every poster is a gamble. I would love an unproven homegrown offensive coordinator that gets his salad tossed against the lowly BIG. If Nebraska wins a title under Riley it was just because he was a PIMP and took us back to where we belong.

I had to chuckle at this post.. heck I almost 'liked' it, but then I see it would be so easy to turn these same words around at point them at you.. the irony of it all.. I mean who uses salad tossing and pimp in the same paragraph? I'm still laughing, but have no clue what you are really trying to say.

Frost had so much love and passion for Nebraska that he chose Stanford to play ball. Obviously he was in it for himself....

He went to learn and play for a legendary NFL coach; this is OK - he had no promise of reaching his goals at that age here. He returned here and was totally the N guy; he had options ;) I think he would have done well if just hired; the AD IMO, saw another level most easily reached with HCMR.

It's fun to think about him coming back to coach somewhere down the line, but I would hope that would only happen after he's coached a few years at a D1 school. The timeline could potentially line up for that exact thing to happen...
