....anybody know the particulars of how the scam worked? How does one go about investing in a radio show and how did he manage to turn it into fraud when the investments went south?

that totaled over 100%. He sold one guy 25%, another guy 40%, and then another guy 50%. Something like that.

...he sold more than 100% of shares. Which works great until the different investors start talking to one another.

He sold ownership interests in his company the he'd set up to own his radio show. He sold more than 100% ownership in the company and some of the investors compared notes and realized that, combined, they "owned" more than 100% and understandably weren't too happy about that.
