Preston Smith is victimizing Clausell. Not surprising. I'm afraid he will be victimized quite a bit this year. Noted too that Mullen stated our DB's were getting beat deep a lot. Our DB's were "victimized" a bunch in the Ole Miss game. Guess they haven't shown much improvement.

How did Quay look? And I heard that Tyler still seemed to hold on to the ball too long, is that true?

Quay looks not 100%. He did have a high ankle sprain recently. Hard to tell much on TR since he's off limits. He still throws a pretty ball but that's all I can tell

Do you think that Clausell will be "victimized" more in 2013 than he was in 2012? Did Preston Smith "victimize" anyone in 2012 or was he "victimized" by read-n-react?

How many of our current DBs were "victimized" in the TSUN game? Does 4 ints mean that TR was "victimized" or just his lack of improvement over his Gator Bowl performance? Will TR be "victimized" quite a bit this year too?

I'll try to answer that

Clausell looks decent. He isnt an all-star but we've seen steady progression so I expect more. Preston Smith was only a "victim" of playing time last year. The guy led us in sacks and barely played. Think about that. He may have been the most underutilized guy we had on D last year. Preston showing well this spring is more of him being really good than Blaine being bad. I wouldn't be suprised if Smith leads us in sacks again with over 10 next year

It was easy to see this past year that P. Smith is the real deal. What the motivation was, besides always being behind the curve, for keeping him and to a certain extent R. Brown bottled up is beyond me.

Do you see any correlation between the amount of deep completions (25 yds +) and the amount of blitzing that the defense does? Are the DBs 1-on-1 much?

Are the deep completions a product of continuing plays once Tyler has been "sacked"?

Our DBs worry me more than OT at this point. I don't think our WRs are OVERLY athletic. I would much rather read "our DBs are getting beat physically" than "they're getting ran by". Don't like the depth at OT though.

The DBs have talent though. Giles and Redmond will be good in time, but opening up with OK State with Nickoe Whitley playing CF? Yikes. They're going to have to grow up fast. Hopefully we can get pressure out of our DEs.
