There was a big difference between today's scrimmage and last week's. There was actually a big difference in the play of Chris Relf from yesterday's practice to today. Tyson came out with off-target throws and an early interception to White, while Relf ran an impressive triple option offense that marched down the field.

I'm not sure if Tyson was just off, if he couldn't see, or if the first team defense was just covering our skeleton crew of wide receivers, but he just couldn't find the open man today. If he was not pulling it down to run, he was throwing it away. His accuracy just isn't there this spring either, and he was way off today.

This was in contrast to Relf, who was keeping it on designed runs, tossing it out to Hemphill, and completing short passes. Relf even hit Bowser on a 40+ pass, but that pass could have been picked off as easily as caught. Relf aired it out under pressure and Bowser just jumped up and took it from the defender. On long pass plays, he continues to make slow, poor decisions.

Robinson continues to impress, but keeps making formation mistakes before the snap. I really don't think Wilder is going to work out. He lacks the toughness to pull away from defenders and fight for the ball. Todd Kilpatrick had two great catches today, including a tipped high pass for a first down. I don't remember much from Berry today, but I continue to think he is going to be our second or third best pickup in this year's class.

As expected, Dixon looked great. He is going to be a beast in this offense. The spread puts him in more one-on-one situations that he is going to win every time. Hemphill is a scrappy back that always seems to get a few more yards that he is supposed to. It will be interesting to see where he stacks up when all the backs are healthy.

All-in-all, the offense looks 10x better than any offense I have seen at MSU in this decade. I can't wait to see what happens when we get the freshmens in here this fall, especially if Tyler can contribute.
