Season Ticket question...

Thanks ahead of time. My wife and I are interested in purchasing season tickets. We have loads of Ram's club points. A friend of ours who we want to hook up with already have season tickets and have for several years. We have two questions...

1. wondering if we are better off ordering two more tickets with our friends, and...

2. My wife is faculty. Do the games often sell out or could we likely get game tickets at the box office. (she can get them for no charge)

Some things to consider:

1. Unless you have LOADS of Rams Club points, you should definitely consider buying season tickets, to guarantee you can get postseason tickets if we host.

2. My understanding is the free faculty tickets, when available, are in the general admission sections 116 and 117, While you can sit pretty much anywhere you want for most midweek games, and probably for the weekend series against LeMoyne (with the possible exception of the Saturday game, since we also have a home hoops game), the crowds definitely get bigger as the weather warms, and we are playing ACC opponents.

3. As a new season ticket holder, your seats won't be assigned until all returning Rams Club season ticket holders have their orders filled.

4. If your friends order 4 season tickets so you can all sit together, they will also go to the back of the line, and be treated as new season ticket holders. You only keep your existing priority for the same number of season tickets you ordered last year.

5. Regarding 3 and 4 above, there is an option to ask to sit with friends, but as with Kenan seating, priority will go to the Rams Club account with the fewest points.

Here are the official ticket guidelines:

I think I saw somewhere that faculty can purchase season tickets as well at a reduced rate, might be a good option

My understanding is "Priority Purchasing Rights" puts your order ahead of the general public, but I'm guessing it doesn't jump you ahead of Rams Club members with more points.

Hope you get the same seats. At the First Pitch Dinner last night, they said season ticket orders are up again this year (didn't give a number), after being up over 40% last year. After all of the orders are filled, I would love to know how many people had their seats moved. I know some people had their women's hoops season tickets moved this year, due to more Rams Club members placing orders.

Yes I do. I asksd for the same two they told me I was guaranteed those . I asked for two more season tickets and they told me that I was not guaranteed those in that location until after new purchases were completed.

If you were told “guaranteed” then whomever used that word did not read the “UNC Athletics Season Ticket Allocation Guidelines” because it specifically says “does not mean that season ticket holders are guaranteed their exact same seats from year-to-year.”

The tiers of priority are defined below:

1. 2. Rams Club members who are returning Season Ticket Holders

• Rams Club members will receive priority for the quantity of tickets purchased from the previous season. Please note: priority does not mean that season ticket holders are guaranteed their exact same seats from year-to-year. Within the group of previous season ticket holders, they will be ranked based upon the Ram’s Club priority point system.

Unless your tickets are in the general admission sections, if they told you that, they should be fired. No tickets can be guaranteed until all orders have been received and processed. It's possible they told you it was very likely you would get the same tickets, but even telling you that was wrong. At First Pitch, they said on top of the 40+% increase in season ticket sales last year, they are up again this year.

I understand the cost associated in the technology, but really wish we could find way to do the seat selection process for other sports than just football. Would give full visibility into what’s available and where you fall in the pecking order.

Also, my understanding is there are no more G/A season tickets. Not sure if those are going away entirely or just for single game purchase only.

This is consistent with my understanding too. I have traditionally had G/A season tickets because we bring our kids and so we end up moving around the stadium a lot to help them stay engaged. So I hate they are getting rid of G/A season tickets.

I agree it would be nice to have a seat selection tool because my preference on which seats I want really depends on what is available at the time it gets to me. And it’s hard for the Rams Club to determine what “best available” is as they work their way down the priority order, since different people value different things (aisle, section, row within the section, etc)

Other than providing the points list to the ticket office, I don't think the Rams Club has any involvement in assigning the tickets. Having said that, your point is valid. I don't trust anyone to determine which seats are best for me.

Assuming that's true, then it's even worse if a ticket office employee actually "guaranteed" location 2 months ago. My guess is they said something like "based on your current location outside of the main bowl, there is a good chance you will get the same seats".

I am telling you what they told me ok i have no reason to lie . Secondly they did the reseating last year and explained to me that they could not guarantee my extra two right next to my current seats but said they get them as close as possible. I am not in the main grandstand but in the first section of left field. Season ticket request might not be that high for that section.

I don’t think anyone is saying you’re lying, just that if the ticket office said you were guaranteed to get your current seats for the ‘26 season, they were mistaken or lying. That was the policy for ‘25, but this season is supposed to follow the policy set for all sports (other than MBB & FB), unless they were changed the policy/procedure from what was communicated last year.

It actually happened last year, but the large number of new season ticket holders went to the back of the line, at least allegedly. That reduced the chances of seats being reassigned for the existing season ticket holders.

Those new season ticket holders from last year will all be in the priority group this year, which will probably increase the chances of ticket locations being moved. That has happened for the past two years with women's hoops season tickets, as the number of tickets sold greatly increased. Whether or not you get moved will come down to 2 things... your current location, and your Rams Club point total, Those in sec 104-113, particularly 107-111, will have a greater chance of getting moved, if their point total is deemed to be lacking.

Exactly because what the ticket office thinks are “better seats” are NOT what I or many others think are “better seats.”

The whole process is dumb. Zero transparency. It runs too late. Seemingly nobody gets what they want. And to top it off we’re less than a month from the season and people don’t even know if they will get tickets, much less where their seats are…

I called the ticket office with a few questions about seat selection and they were clueless. I knew more about how baseball tickets worked than they did. Seat selection like football would be really nice

From the press release— “UNC employees can claim up to four (4) complimentary general admission tickets for each home game by showing their UNC OneCard at the Boshamer Stadium Box Office on game day.”
Is this new?

No, but it left off some important info... IF AVAILABLE. Since you can only claim them on game day, there is always a chance the game is sold out, although that won't apply much of the time.

Last year the request deadline was Wednesday January 15th and the confirmation email was sent Wednesday Jan 29th, 2 weeks later. First game was same time frame: Feb 14 vs 13th this year.
