Went to renew my season today and noticed a $285.00 surcharge for CAF Scholarship Fund. Not sure what this is but I ain't paying it! These athletes are getting paid thru NIL and now the University wants to charge a scholarship fee.... WoW. Did anyone else see the increase for this? DId you renew? I am not

Highly suspect that CAF scholarship is a euphemism for NIL. Remember that, starting with the 2025-26 season, schools are going to start paying the players $20.5 million each year. UofL has to raise that money somehow, and football and men’s basketball season ticket holders are going to be the biggest potential sources for generating that new revenue.
Or not.
Right now, that money is being thrown in a hole with no idea who, how, or what it’s being spent/given to.
I believe a lot of attitudes are changing. Even on this board I sense a different attitude in some of the posting.
I hope somehow there are some controls put in place so WE can know what, exactly, we’re “donating” to.

Unless some Corporate Sponsor steps up in a very big way; fans and particularly ticket holders should expect this to continue. “Pay for Play” is the new normal, and it is necessary if UL expects to remain relevant in these D1 sports.
