Not sure about handicap parking, but the parking in general is very cramped so get there early. Seating is tiny as well but there is plenty of room all over the stadium so getting a decent view won't be hard, but it won't be high up on the visitor side.

There is Handicapped parking and accessible seating on the home side. I would suggest calling the school and asking to reserve a space and seating.

I've been going to Naz games for like 10 years and let me tell you the guy in charge of parking is a desolate individual who treats everyone like garbage. Almost everyone else you'll encounter is pretty accommodating. I would imagine that a handicap individual would be taken care of but with that guy running the operation I can't be certain. Nazareth does have a handicap ramp on the home side and handicap seating in the front of the bleachers, beware there are some very loud Nazareth parents in that section! Overall it's a great place to see a game but make sure you get there early, calling the ad in advance to inquire about handicap parking is probably a good idea.

Visiting fan side has bleachers for about 350 behind bench, don't sit in first three rows

If it's the guy I am thinking of I met him this year and thought nothing of him and maybe you just need to give him a little encouragement.

I know about 20 different people that have had "encounters" with him, including Naz people. The guy is a maniac.,

I'm sure naz will accommodate nicely, it's a great sat afternoon environment.
It is a 2A facility that I do not at all find charming.
Personally I prefer to actually watch a game and not just the few plays I am able to see when a play happens in front of me.
Their program has arrived, it's time they equip their stadium accordingly.

That's funny. This whole board regularly puts Naz as one of the top places to see a game. Maybe we should just call up and have it at JCA. Wait they don't have a field to accommodate anything.

We'll just tear down some houses for you, if that's desirable.

I try to not park in the grounds, instead just parking on the streets across Ogden. I don't mind the walking. So I have had nary the experience with him.

ND Niles, CoM, Providence, Marist, and Marian Catholic have figured it out.
Benet figured it out too.
St. Pat's, St. Viator and Joliet Catholic elect to rent facilities within their communities that can can accommodate a thousand+ visitors.
I do not want stuffed animals or cute, cuddly puppies.
I would just like to be able to watch what should be a very good High School football game between the reigning 6A Champion and a worthy opponent.
There certainly appears to be plenty of room behind the temporary bleachers for better bleachers --- heck Marist used to take theirs down after Football as the bleachers were on Rightfield of their old baseball field.
No need to tear down houses, just do not take offense when it is compared to 2A facilities.

The individual that you are referring to is a tremendously generous person who works his *** off. If you or any others have had a poor experience it is usually because with the limited access to the parking lot people lose patience when someone at the front of the line decides not to follow directions and tries to park in the reserved area or just go roage. this screws up the flow and messes with everyone's attitude.

This year parking is a bit more challenging with the new construction on campus. If you come to the game please have patience and as Gooms said give the parking guys a little encouragement. They are working instead of wattching the games.

If Nazareth had the 160 acres that Marian Catholic has we would all be much happier. I understand your point, however like many people on this board sometimes you have to step back and remember that the school does not exist for football alone. The space behind and under the temporary visitors bleachers is used as a practice area for many of the other sports soas to accomodate multiple activities practicing at the same time. I do not foresee renting any othe facility since there truly isn't a good solution nearby and there has been a large investment in the current facility over the last 10 years.

An easy solution is to buy season tickets at the beginning of the season. This will get you a nice seat with a back near midfield and you get a parking pass.

The only school you listed that has it "figured" out IMO is Marian Catholic. There's plenty of parking there. Parking is a mess at Marist, CoM, ND. You need to lump Benet in the we rent a facility because we don't have one category. Do yourself a favor and stay home and watch online. Or go watch your girls volleyball team at state. I'm sure there will be a seat for you there.

I plan on doing both!! Godfather, you are very defensive on this topic. You cant see the issue of playing a game of this magnitude in a facility that only has seating for 250 people of the visitor side? I admit that I enjoy watching games at Naz, I just wish there was seating for more people. Joliet Catholic does has room on their campus to have a facility, but have elected to use a stadium that can accommodate 10-12 thousand fans. I think that makes sense

Not to mention plenty of parking for both sides and easy access to both expressways.

I don't understand this mindset. Whether or not a HS stadium is on the school's campus has no bearing on the fan experience of attending the game. Impacts on the experience: adequate parking, adequate seating, good sight lines to view the action, sound organization to ensure organized arrival and departure etc. etc.

Some stadiums and schools offer a "quaint" experience that can adequately accommodate most regular season or playoff games, since the crowds are not large. Many of those venues cannot adequately accommodate larger crowds for bigger matchups. Naz has such a stadium setup, IMO.

It is what it is. You roll the dice when going to games like this Saturday's matchup. You may get a decent seat or vantage point, and you may not. There are no guarantees like larger venues offer.

The same thing was brought up 2 years ago when JCA played at Montini. That it would sell out had to get there 2 hours early. I was there 2 hours before kickoff thinking it would be a mad house. Then at kickoff it was no different than a 1st round game. Where were all your fans this week for MCC. There were no more than 500 on the JCA side. Isn't a 2nd round game against a conference opponent big enough magnitude.

So in your eyes there are MAYBE 10 stadiums in the state that can big games. And that's a stretch. Why would any team move their game at this point and give up a home field advantage in the playoffs and play at a neutral site.

No....what's a stretch is your interpretation of what I wrote.

As I said in my original post, regarding Naz' facility: "it is what it is". Any visiting fan attending the game should not expect to get a good seat or vantage point. Maybe they will, but it's very likely they will not.

And I wouldn't expect the visiting crowd to be huge. I'm sure many won't attend due to concerns regarding seating.

Has anyone suggested that Naz move the game?

Naz does sell the reserved stadium seats between the 45s. They don't sell out for regular season games and didn't for the 1st round. Call up the school and buy 1. It'll cost you just a little bit more than a regular ticket. It's a nice regular stadium seat with a back and you may even be able to add a parking option.

Huh...I was there and there was far more than 500 fans on the home side. Each section of the stadium can hold approx. 800 people. The middle 3 sections of the stadium were pretty much full. The other four sections had a fair amount of people in them as well . I sit in the section on the 10 yard line and there was at least 150 people in that section alone. I was counting people and I stopped when I got to 2000! Here is the only picture of the home side I could find. Looks like a pretty good crowd

Yes they do have reserved seats. How could I ever find you among those 20 ("150" people on the 10s). Or are you in the super jammed 3 sections of 800 in the middle.

USD24 - Just because a you feel that a game is of a special "magnitude" does not mean it should be moved to a different venue. Naz earned the right to host the game and they shall make sure the game site is ready for the players, officials and fans (in that order) in a first class way. FYI - I have no relationship with Naz.

Schools do not build the visiting stands for playoff crowds - just for what they expect for regular season games as they want to leave as much space on the campus for use by other sports.

Just be glad the game is not at St. Ignatius. A city school with very limited parking, parking meters on the surrounding streets (though great food nearby), a field that runs east-west and visitor seating in the end zone.

2 different kicks in both halves. My concern is where were all the students. There's like 30 kids in the student section.

I agree. Was disappointed in the turnout all around. As I stated before, I have no problem with the game at Naz, just like I had no problem with the setup at Montini two years ago. I like the closeness and the atmosphere. I usually stand anyway.

FWIW I was just informed.
Nazareth visitors side bleacher hold 550 seats, and are bringing in another 250 seats for this game. Total of 800
Bring lawn chairs and sit in the north end zone.
The home side does hold 1400 people and can accommodate handicap seating on the first deck. There is also handicap parking.

i see bronco man likes this...where the hell has he been?
I have been lurking. I generally go to college games on the weekend. I wish JCA the best of luck this weekend. If you guys are at full strength you have a good chance to get past Naz and make it to DeKalb.

I marvel at what is sometimes discussed and defended on the board as of late. How can the fact that parking and seating is limited at Naz become an issue, and at the same time offense be taken because of the fact both parking and seating are limited? I laughed out loud at MCHS stating that he never sits for football games. I rarely do either. Into the quarters I have seen the crowd at Montini standing 4 and 5 deep.
In any event Naz is a great place to watch a football game especially during the day. Good Luck to both teams.
