Somebody told me we will play a Saturday doubleheader versus Alabama. Anyone else hearing that?

its on the schedule. BDJ has a good summary of media day with Cohen from today. I'm now just woolly enough to sit out in 30 degree weather for 3-4 hours at a time.

Personally, I think the SEC would have even better attendance and be more popular if they had a Friday night game and then a Sat. DH game. I think our DH is set up for game one at 2 and game 2 at 6. That's perfect. I could leave work on Friday and catch the night game, stay in the area and go to the DH the next day and home by midnight (From Jackson) and go to church the next day.

My only question is 7 or 9 innings? I'm hoping 9.

That was my first thought too. I'm guessing they'll be 9 since that's now the norm for all conference games.

instead of doing away with double headers. Because one of the big reasons for the SEC doing away with the doubleheaders was coaches were saying that they "couldn't develop a pitching staff- referring to the bullpen-, and it is hurting us in regionals."

I think you would see less rainouts too- because they could use Sunday as a "make up day". That means that things are settled on the field- which is how it should be. You also wouldn't have to worry about games ending early so that the visiting team can get back to campus.
