I think South Carolina gets to use the SC logo on their baseball hats but can't sell them to the public.

...none of your concoctions are as hideous as the current "M State" blasting across our helmets.
Miss. State is the only SEC team that has a helmet logo that looks like it was created by an 8th grade girl in art class.

I think Vandy and Arkansas versions would be improvements over the current but that is it, I wish we could see a return of the Aerospace MSU helmet at some point <div>

was bring back the flying-M helmet back for the homecoming game every year along with throwback uniforms from 1970. I think it would be a nice, simple tradition to start. Reason being "homecoming" in college is supposed to be in part for the alumni to come back to campus, and therefore I wouldn't mind the academic side of MSU being represented once a year.
The other 11 games, I want a football logo on the helmet. We looked like a bunch of pussies under Croom in those pseudo-Bama outfits.
I'm not a big fan of the M-State, but I can tolerate and at least like the one we have now. I would also bring back the inter-locking MSU if I had to make the call as well.

If he thinks the one that we have now is generic looking, he should see what LT had us wear during the Croom era.
For Ole Miss, he should have his alternate helmet navy blue or powder blue with a big red M or a red M with some stars on it.
I liked the Bama helmet with the elephant on it. His helmet is what Bama would look like if they hired Croom.

Georgia- Been there, done that, looked bad, still would.
LSU- His purple helmet looked better than that one.

The idiotic flying M-State white helmets were the worst aspect to me of the Croomiforms. From a distance, on TV, it looked like the Purina logo. Up close, that logo reminded me of a fat guy barely scraping himself through a finish line, much as you'd imagine Croom would look at the end of a 1K run. So they were at least symbolically significant.
I agree with Todd that this guy should view our current maroon helmets relative to those Croom ones. It's a vast improvement.
That said, if our helmets are going to "repurpose" another sport's logo--in this case basketball--I wish they would've just used a larger version of the stacked MS baseball logo, as in the picture below.
I emailed this picture to Byrne after Mullen was hired, and he responded and thanked me. At least they got the color scheme right. The maroon on maroon facemasks are pretty sweet.
