They thought FSU would be playing Miami as often as not in the championship game. What they really need to do is rotate their championship game between the winners of the two divisions and not have a pre-set site for the game. Their conference is too spread out geographically.stateskills said:This is dumber than the ACC playing their football championship game in Jacksonville and Tampa, instead of Charlotte.
...if you triangulate all SEC school locations. The furthest team is the University of Florida, and that isn't such a great distance from Gainesville. Further, it is a great city to visit and party. UK, UM, MSU, Vandy, UT, and Alabama are all convenient and within 4-5 hours drive, with Auburn maybe 6. The only schools a distance away are LSU, USC, UF, UGA and Arkansas, but they are all reasonable. Arkansas has the greatest distance to travel to Tampa. It is a long two day drive unless you fly.birdZdawg said:nm

Fixed that for you.RebelBruiser said:I'll bet the biggest reason for the slow ticket sales is the 2nd worst depression in the nation's history.
or at least until the tourney goes to tulsa in 2010. i would assume, though, that the tourney will go back to memphis after they see the ticket sales/attendance in tulsa. Now that CUSA is a Memphis only conference, they're basically guaranteed to host the CUSA tourney every year from here until Memphis goes into another conference.
