Not talking NCAA's here just SEC standings...

LSU is going to win 14 games.. tonight was huge for them to come back from down over 20.
3-2 gets us to 10-6 and 2nd in the West.
I think UT and USC get stuck with 9 wins max.. Auburn will have a tough time getting over 9 as well..

Ole Miss is a wildcard as they have the easiest remaining schedule of teams with a chance to the the #2 seed in the SECT

The overall standings really don't matter. The division standings are the only thing that matters for seeding.

Also, I think SC wins at least 10, and they may win 11 based on schedule. UF will win 9 or 10. UK will likely win 9.

That said, the real battle in the West is for the 2 seed. It'll be either MSU, Auburn, or Ole Miss. I think State gets to 9-7. 10-6 is possible though. I really don't think Auburn finishes better than 8-8. 9-7 will be a tall task for them. And at this point, I think we finish in the 8-8 range as well. It's definitely highly possible that the Ole Miss-MSU game on the last Saturday of the year could be a game for the 2 seed in the West.

and say that both State and OM both finish 3-2. Don't ask which games each wins, cause it's just a hunch. Pretty safe to say that LSU is the overall champ. Auburn is screwed the rest of the way and so is UT. USC's schedule is very favorable, I could see them winning out. Florida's and KY's remaing schedules are pretty tough, but at times they both show flashes of being a good team, and then they just look awful so depends on which team shows up. It's going to be a real interesting finish between Arky and UGA for last place. Vandy might have to watch Bama to make a run at them for the number eight spot.

I would say USC and us have the easiest remaining schedule out of the 2nd place teams. Winning 4 out of the last 5 would put us finishing in second place. Prob giving us two more high RPI wins and putting us back on the bubble.

My question is... would the selection committee look at the fact that we finished second in the conference at all? Or would they just look at our resume wins and record?

we may finish two games ahead of third place. South Carolina looks to have the best chance in the East.

Team - likely finish (Wildcard game)
LSU - Likely 4-1 or 5-0 finish (at Kentucky)
MSU - likely 3-2 or 4-1 finish (at Tennessee)
UT - likely 2-3 or 1-4 finish (Miss. State)
UF - likely 3-2 or 4-1 finish (Miss. State)
UK - likely 2-3 or 3-2 finish (LSU)
USC - likely 4-1 or 5-0 finish (at Vandy)

What makes you say that? The original post was mentioning the battle for the 2 seed in the SEC tourney. Last I checked, the format for seeding is still based on division finish.

And what out of my predictions do you disagree with? I think SC should be the favorite at this point in the East, based on schedule. And I feel pretty confident that Auburn will struggle to do better than 8-8 based on their schedule. Which part do you think is lacking in "having a clue"?
