It's write-ups like this that makes me think Rivals has some sort of interest in influencing recruits choices. I could be wrong but it sure appears that way to me.

Bingo! But keep in mind recruiting and stories about recruiting is their business.

Certainly a very different tone than the one Jon Hale wrote when he spoke to Mac after the UofL offer.

Seems to be a lot of writers who are hoping Mac goes somewhere else. I think we are starting to scare the big boys. Time for Big Bro to curb stomp some boys!!!!!!

Football recruiting sites such as Rivals pander to the so called football schools, Bama, FSU, Clemson, etc. It's where a high number of their subscribers live. I'd still like to know why the 3 Florida schools haven't offered Jones, apparently choosing to go elsewhere.

Fsu and uf already have commitments from 5* kids.

Read Jon Hale's article and what Mac said about UF.

Let me say this, Woody Womac is the least favorite Rivals reporter on our board. Anytime a recruit who has been favoring us does an interview with Woody that says someone is closing on us or passed us, he immediately comes to our recruiting board and post it. But if is something favorable a UGAsports guy has to put it up. He still says Chubb wasn't a top back when he came out of HS and defends it by saying he played poor competition, nevermind he dominated every camp he attended. When Gurley was suspended and Chubb started his first game, he went to UT's board and posted proof he was right by putting up their ypc after one game, We played Missouri and UT played a cupcake. But after the season when Chubb averaged over 7 ypc and Hurd was under 5, no Woody. I have gotten slapped on the wrist a couple of times for questioning his motive and how unbiased his reporting is.

He has even gone as far as asking our commits who else they would like to hear from after the kid just told him he was 100% committed. He doesn't report unbiased updates and tries to lead recruits and commits into saying things they don't really mean. He seems to have an agenda instead of reporting what the kid actually says. If I suddenly stop posting it will be because I have been put in the penalty box again because of my opinion of Woody's work, which I think is the worst on Rivals.

In the immortal words of the Baron, Wommack "is a little turd." And Rivals shtick of trying to create controversy where there is none reeks of desperation...

Drama creates sales, which makes money.

Exactly. The recruiting game has become an off season cottage industry for on line fan sites. Rivals is in this business to make money, not generously offer their "expertise" to fans. I have a strong feeling their strongest subscription bases are in the deep south.

Peace

There is no doubt about that, for years Bama patted themself on the back for having the largest number of subscribers in the Rivals network. Probably still do, wait until the November reranking of players and watch for the "Bama Bump" when their commits or strong leans get their biggest jumps. Extremely rare when one of their's doesn't, while this past November every single one of our commits dropped, everyone of them. Woody even dropped one of our OL commits because he wasn't a great DE.

The title was baiting (but isn't that the point of a headline?), but the article itself wasn't bad. Other than saying he was going to evaluate each offer, he didn't sound like he was waiting to jump on the "dream offer".

I take umbrage with this: "Jones says -– at least for the present time -– he’s sticking with the Wildcats..." Neither "at least for the present time" nor "he's sticking with the Wildcats" were in quotes - so despite the lead-in to the sentence ("Jones says..."), Jones didn't say that. If he had, it would have certainly been in quotes and would have been the title of the article.

"I'm going to evaluate every offer."

I thought he was "committed". I guess commitment isn't what it used to be.

Yep, Woody isn't very professional and acts like a little scared girl. He will put you on ignore if you differ from him. Plus, his credentials as a talent evaluator are weak.

He does that here as well. He will go on HOB and put up interviews with our recruits. Some posters will admonish him for the leading questions he asks them, like since UK is not a bowl team and you have this top school wanting you.... just general questions like that.
He had a sit down with Jones that was like 18 min long and he only mentioned stuff like that a couple of times. More or less something like East Carolina and UK were your only offers at one time and you committed to UK early. Now since you have gotten exposure your getting a lot more attention are you going to stay committed? Are you going to take a look at Bama? Take an official to Bama? lol

Or UT, but yep, that's Woody. Can't believe he is still employed as unprofessional as he acts towards some fanbases, particulary our 2. Its like he comes looking for a confrontation, and we seldom disappoint.

I didn't even write the article you guys have linked here. Did you actually read it? Or just the headline?

Based on your rambling theory here, I want kids not to go to Kentucky and somehow that influences my reporting on kids who might go to Georgia? Where exactly do you think I want kids to go and why?

Our front page has literally been filled with stories praising Mac Jones for the past three days, including an in-depth interview I did with him that you can only find here.

No, I dropped him because he spent an entire season not playing his future college position on a team that had no other Division 1 talent.

That's what an interview is, the kid visited Alabama just a few weeks ago. How can I not ask him about that?

The podcast was a general recruiting discussion where I praised Kentucky for identifying him early in process. I know that doesn't fit your narrative of me being anti-Kentucky, anti-Tennessee, anti-Georgia (which are all major sites in our network, btw).

This is BS. An interview does not have required questions otherwise all interviews would be the same. This from the guy that gave you some praise for not hammering on that particular question in an interview.

Do you not find it strange you have to defend dropping UGA's recruits rankings all the time? As for Ben, why would him playing out of position hurt his rankings? It didn't hurt Jalen Hurd's rankings to sit out the entire year, in fact he rose while not doing anything. Then after Chubb's first start you got to UT's board and boast about how high Hurd's ypc was compared to Chubb's, but strange you didn't do that at season's end don't you think? Do you feel that was something a professional would do? And then there is the annual "Bama Bump" that always moves Bama up 2-5 spots in team rankings without adding a single kid. I know this doesn't matter to you, but as soon as I see your name on something I close it up and don't read or watch it because I know it will be some biased BS with you trying to lead a kid into saying something he really doesn't mean to say.

Lol. Got to admit it when you do post you bring it, much like your story that was hilarious on you playing kick ball and lighting that guy up.
What you got to realize is that say for example a peogram like Ky is not used to having outstanding talents like Jones consindering us much less being an out of state kid committing to us and sticking with us.
The last thing that I feel as a UK fan is a media type steering a kid to think about another program. I know that you need to do that so Bama fans will have an interview to listen to as well and helps generate revenue.
But we always have enough problems in trying to build our program from negative recruiting against us to rival fans posing as UK fans and making outlandish statements on social media. I guess you can say is that we have enough shots coming from other directions and many on here don't want more shots coming from any new places if we can help it.

I'm an HOB subscriber as you have probably noted in the thread of your podcast that I commented in.
Thought it was well done and didn't mind you asking about official visits to Jones. I enjoyed listening to him explain the process and how he was going to take his visits. It's just some guys on here are going to be very defensive because they are afraid of losing Jones and when a media guy keeps asking a kid about Bama I'm sure it will put a nugget in his head he will be thinking about.

Grumpy I think you will find your answer to your questions in the very podcast I was referring too when I responded to woody. I would do a copy and paste over here but don't know if it's for HOB only.
All I will say is that their was an incident between Woody and Georgia. Maybe the new staff their will bring new relations?? Anyways maybe you can find that podcast or maybe Rowland will bring it over here.

Thx BB, I knew something had to have happened somewhere alone the way, He may have asked Pruitt a question he didn't like, I can't imagine that going well. But he purposely tries to stir the pot on our recruiting board, and is very successful. I don't think we have anyone on staff now that would be unusually rude to him, but no doubt in my mind Pruitt would be, turning the other cheek isn't is strength. Richt couldn't keep him in check, don't think Kirby wanted to try, Saban is probably the only one with a chance to keep him in check.

I did some surfing around and found a video of the interview instead of the podcast. He talks about a Georgia incident between the 3-4 min mark.
Sounds like somebody in the Georgia compliance office or one of the coaches was stepping on Woody's toes
