We can no longer finish in the Top 8 with OM beating Tennessee. So we will be playing on Wednesday.

Beat Arkansas - we are the 9 seed playing SC.

Lose + Vandy loss - we are the 10 seed playing LSU

Lose + Vandy win - we are the 11 seed playing likely Oklahoma.

Avoid Oklahoma. They are playing really good ball and playing for their tourney lives.

What a disappointing finish to the season. We went from possibly being 6th to a more than decent chance of finishing 11th. I don’t expect us to go into Arkansas and win, and finishing 1-4 against the “easiest” portion of our schedule and falling to 11th would be a big killjoy.

I feel the same way flow but watch, this is when we will look like world beaters …in our last game of the regular season and it will conclude a successful season….just to throw us all off

Well that's what happens when the team has a bunch of "good" losses. Winning a few of those road games against middling teams would have been nice.

Really don't want to play SC for a 3rd time. Almost impossible to beat any team 3 times in a year. I'd rather play LSU or OK. Would also rather not have to meet Ole Miss in the SEC or the Big Dance. Almost guarantee you they'd beat us.

It doesn't matter. This team is too inconsistent. We'll go one and one at best. Same for the big dance.

1-1 in the Big Dance? AKA, our best season in nearly 2 decades? Don’t threaten me with a good time.

Our basketball fanbase needs a full frontal lobotomy as far as what their expectations should be for this program, especially with NIL now in play.

It's needed one for years, and not just in basketball. I agree basketball is the worst though.

Maybe SC or Ole Miss would beat us but that's a scared loser mentality to have. You think Chris Jans is thinking that way? Josh Hubbard? Cam Matthews? Good grief man, grow a set.

Best 3 year run in 2 decades as well. I think it's a bleed over from football and baseball sucking and everyone is just mad for no reason.

One of those teams is not like the other 3. The Oklahoma and Texas games were both very disappointing.
Poster said we needed to win "a few" of our road games. So Oklahoma and which other two between Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee should we have won?

No doubt we failed to capitalize for what feels like the 10th straight year or however long it's been since we left the Rick Ray purgatory. But our failings were largely at home not on the road.
  • Coulda shoulda beat Kentucky
  • Coulda shoulda beat Alabama if Murphy makes a layup
  • Coulda shoulda beat Texas if Kugel makes two free throws
  • Coulda beat Florida as evidenced by having a halftime lead

If we are the 9 seed, we will play UK in round 2. If we are the 10 or 11, we will play either A&M or Ole Miss in round 2.

Middling? Our road losses are to Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama and Oklahoma.
My poubt is we lost to a lot of teams we are "suppose" to be better than. I threw road losses in there because every time we lose its an excuse made on this board that it was a road game or a good loss or the refs were big meanies. Maybe this team ain't better than Georgia or Oklahoma or OM. Maybe it's a lower half team after all. Losing is a key indicator

Well they did beat Georgia and Ole Miss on the road.

Seems to me we won all our road games against middling teams except OU... SC, UGa, OM, Vandy... and that it's the home losses that we could/should have won that are killing our seeding.

Vandy may finish higher in the SEC than us so if they are just middling then we are as well.

Correct. There may not be an individual "bad loss", but going 1-4 during that stretch would be an extremely disappointing finish. This team is plateauing when it needs to be peaking

Yeah, it's not our road performance that's killing us right now. It's the 4-5 home record

Thank goodness we found something against A&M and didn't cave in OT against OM or else we'd be staring at 3-6 or even 2-7. We've got to be better at home, and the team can't blame the fans this season
