But that's because only half the country plays college baseball for a 64 team field.

Every team in the West is under .500 in SEC play. The team that can make it to .500 will win the damn thing. It's not because they're all evenly matched, it's because they're all not very good.

This is the weakest West I can remember. I don't even think it's close.

and get back to me...

SEC Football and Baseball 3X> SEC basketball

When is the last time we beat 3 top 5 teams in basketball?

SEC baseball = Big East basketball....the 6th, 7th, or 8th best SEC team in baseball could win the CWS like UConn winning the NCAA Tourney...7th or 8th in SEC basketball = 1st round NIT loss

on any SEC West team making it to Omaha.

It's different this year. There are only 3 SEC teams that have a chance to make it to Omaha.

Every league in the country, even the small nothing leagues, care about basketball.

That's the big difference. SEC basketball will never dominate the way baseball does because baseball has a lot less competition. A lot of major D-1 programs don't even field a baseball team. Half of them are in a climate that's unfriendly to baseball, and many of the others that do field a team treat it like a club sport.

You can't compare the two sports based on RPI alone or NCAA appearances.

No matter the status of your program, if you are an SEC baseball coach, reaching a regional is MUCH easier than reaching the tourney if you're a basketball coach. There is no comparison.
