1. Auburn 117
2. UPig 100
3. LSU 98
4. Alabama 95
5. State 94 (last in the SEC in average)
6. Mississippi 92 (2nd in the SEC in average)

we are 4 runs scored behind the SEC West leader- LSU who is 14-7

With the new bats, the number of extra base hits is down- leading to more singles. And while averages are still decent, teams are having to get more hits and such to score runs. On-base percentage is more important than ever now- we lead the SEC in walks and getting hit by pitches. Those are just as important as all the singles being hit by other teams

We're 26 behind the SEC W leader in runs scored.

Phrasing is a little confusing.

Also note the top 3 in each category below: Auburn, SC and UK seem to not only be able to get on base with hits, walks, and HBP, but can also then put the ball into play scoring runs.

That's kind of strange coming from you. Bottom line is our runs scored is 4.48 per game compared to the overall SEC average of 4.68. A little below average but not too bad. Not nearly as bad as our other offensive stats look, but at the end of the day the only one that matters is runs scored. I'm a little concerned that 6 of our last 9 games are against 2 of the top 4 pitching staffs in the league though.

Smaller park also means less ground to cover for the OF, meaning they could also be hitting quality balls into the gaps or strong singles through the infield.

...I could discuss baseball numbers all day...

Kentucky's isnt quite as big- Kentucky scores 5.2/home and 4.67 on the road

Having a smaller OF also allows the ball to get to those gaps quicker and bounce off the wall and such

MSU is 6-7 in 1 run games, so if MSU had won just 3 of the losses they would be 30-14 right now. On the flip side, had MSU lost just 3 of the the wins, they would be 24-20.

MSU is 7-2 in 2 run games, so if MSU had won all 9, they would be 29-15, but had they lost 3 more of those 2 run games and also lost just 3 more of those 1 run games, they would be 21-23 right now.

MSU is 4-4 in Extra inning games.....but by now, you know the drill.....

We can push numbers all over the place.....but the good news is MSU is 27-17 and 10-11 SEC after being 21-16 and 5-10 SEC just 11 days ago.
With every silver lining there is a dark cloud: MSU is 3-9 against 4 of the 6 teams ahead of us(haven't played Kentucky or Florida) in the standings (Auburn has tie-break on us as of now)

MSU is 7-2 against Mississippi, Tennessee and Vandy which is a good thing, because anything less would just plain suck.

if broomfield hadn't dropped that pass from cam and we hung on against ark we would have been 10-2 going into a bowl game, if tyson had of pitched the ball to dixon against lsu we would have gone to a bowl, if we would have held on against sc and relf gets i more foot we're 8-4. this **** could go for days....

Heck...if...IF....we had taken 2 of 3 from LSU, SC and Ark, we would be in the danged Top 10 Nationally.

I was trying to make a point about what if's.... We are also 6 runs from being in the cellar....just sayin'

They just need to start hitting the damn ball in places other than the other teams glove about 30% of the time. The only freaking sport where 30% is considered successful and our hitters....ooops....I mean batters...cause they sure aren't "hitters"...... can't muster 2/3 of 30%.

Winning is a good thing....Happy....happy...joy...joy....yippee kya.... But .143...good grief.....The Mississippi School for the Blind should be able to hit .143!!!!
