Back just a few short years ago I’d pumped as Jackie’s helium balloon theory but now… since we’re the last ones to get them and our football team sucks donkey balls, NIL, transfer portal, — not so much so!

Not going to be good I'm afraid
I am going to take a wait and see on the non-conference games. Is AZ State going to be better than last season? Take back a pick six and a QB fumble on the 20 picked up and return for a TD good chance State wins that game last season. This year they will be the team playing in an unfamiliar climate in a different time zone. I am not pumping sunshine because starting in week five it is going to be ugly.

I still don't see how that $3 million dollar expenditure makes our football team better. Or makes stadium seats any wider, or the sound system any clearer, or the cell coverage in the stadium any better, or gets cars off campus any quicker, or compensates athletes........

They’ll put you in a hypnotic state so you are unable to notice all of the above

It's really difficult to compare games year to year like that. Yes, we played them relatively close last year. We also won at Arkansas in 2023 and got dump trucked at home last season.

Could we win? I mean, sure. But ASU is A LOT better than us. Upsets are always possible, but we'll almost certainly be a double digit underdog.

It improves fan experience. Not every expenditure is going to directly improve on-field performance. And yes, there are other stadium improvements that need to be made - but this was high on the list as well.

Love the Welcome to Starkvegas on the screens along with the lights. I'm curious to know if we have any night games. Usually teams that struggle in the SEC play at 11AM.

Agh, it’s the old moral victory post. Just turn 3 scoring plays the other way & we win! That game was a lot closer in the scoreboard than it was on the field. They out-rushed us 346-24. We were a lot closer to losing by 30 than to winning.

Coming soon for SEC games…

we think….

maybe by 2027….

surely….

thanks for watching
What am I missing? The lights aren't legal for SEC games? Is there a reason other than the SEC just wanting ultimate control and final say on everything?

It wasn't supposed to. It's lighting. Correcting lighting doesn't typically make seats wider, or effect cell phone coverage, etc. You are one of those people who if we fixed any one of those other things, would be on here asking how that fixes our lighting problem. Whataboutism at its finest. Why did you pave that street, when the AC is broken - why did you fix the AC when that street needed to be paved? Just going to b*tch regardless.

"Correcting lighting", that's what this is about? I thought it was for fan experience?

This looks pretty cool, honestly. It's like we got a new toy at Christmas. It's new to me so I'm going to enjoy it. I don't care if Johnny down the street has had one for a year, I'm going to enjoy mine now.

F all the naysayers. The stadium experience just got a little better. Keep going.

Can we still have the DJ and fireworks with these lights at the post game moral victory party?
