That was a dumb thing to say, but I've gotten to the point living up north where I understand why people not from rural, southern areas don't like guns. Within a microsecond when I hear "guns" I think about innocently shooting at squirrels in the woods around my backyard. They automatically think about inner-city drug lords. I'm not going to change my opinion about owning guns and not registering mine but I'm not going to sign up for the NRA or vote for open carry at universities.
... That being said, I love how Steve Gleason has become a celebrity. You have to believe in fate and God's plans for people after things like this. The city needed something, it got the Saints back, and in an undefeated vs undefeated match-up a guy has one of the greatest photo ops ever in a crucial statement play. Without either of those Gleason would just be another guy with ALS who used to play pro football who happens to have a couple significant friends. I don't know if any of you realize how important he's been to ALS research. Crazy, man. Things go together so perfectly sometimes.
I don't know if I could have his positive outlook if I got a condition 1/1000000000000000000th as bad as him.
