None of that matters right now. Win on Thursday and we're in. Lose and we are probably out, regardless of the OSU game.
that might assume bubble games go to form.....there are many moving parts here. whatever the probability is....this increases the probability that we are in with a loss.

It also increases the probability we are in field of 64 with win vs Michigan

wow....

I apologize for my snarky comments for anyone who said it would matter.

Gladly wrong.
If you go back historically, every time there has been an admission of a mistake there has been extra consideration to that game. Many feel that the Duke loss to Virginia is in the same boat this year. Not new news, but a helpful reiteration of policy by the Committee.

Get ready for some major controversy if Rutgers loses on Thursday and then somehow sneaks in because of this. The teams left out would have a really good case, too. Having said that, I still don't think we get in with a loss Thursday. While the Selection Committee doesn't officially have an "eye test," we all know that comes into play. If we are blown out by Michigan like the last time we played them, that plus the way our season ended clearly shows the team in a tailspin. They'll choose someone else.

Correct, and frankly if/when we lose Thursday, I don't want Rutgers to make it. 1) We wouldn't deserve it and 2) All the negative press we'd get for sneaking in despite an end-of-season collapse wouldn't be worth another First Four appearance (and likely loss) in my book.

In a way it’d almost be better long term to not get selected if we lose to Michigan. The controversy plus if we lose the first four game will make the narrative “Rutgers didn’t belong in the NCAA tournament” and you don’t want that thought on peoples mind in future years

You have every right to say “I told you so” and there’s a lot of proud people in that thread that couldn’t be bothered by your “ridiculous question” that now turned out to be true
I am glad to be wrong here, at least think i am wrong.

The difference between this as a loss or a win is so wide that we will almost know how they dealt with it when the bracket is revealed. It is a full +2 in games over .500

48 hours of controversy and then no one will remember it again but us and maybe a few teams that got the 1 seed in the NIT. We still get a banner and we still make it to the dance.

That’s an interesting take… rings of some truth too…
