Good choice! I am a senior in meteorology. If you go on TV (broadcast meteorology) its not as math based but you take the same meteorology classes basically. You would have to take Chemistry, Physics 1, Calculus 1 and 2, Practicum 1-3 or 4, News Writing, Water Resources..I had take Cal 1-3 and Differential Equations, Physics 1 and 2, Chemistry, Geowriting (very tough class my paper was 26pages long) and a no practicum for me. But we have awesome teachers its tough but a lot of fun. You'll really enjoy Dr. Wax, Grady Dixon, Jamie Dyer, Mike Brown, and Doug Gillham (one of the best forecasters in the country hands down) and Renny Vandeweege (he is a very cool guy and teaches practicum). I'd recommend you to be good at math and physics or get used to it..If you get through that, you'll love the major..Very cool..I'm an operational meteorology major so I'm gonna try to work at the National Weather Service, not on TV. If you need any more info I can get you some..There are a few other meteorology guys on this website that can tell ya about it..Your weather classes you'll take are Intro to Meteorology, Applied Climatology, Physical Geography, Weather Analysis I and II, Synoptic Meteorology, Physical Meteorology, Thermodynamics I and II (Senior Year), Weather Forecasting I and II, Satellite and Radar Meteorology, and Mesoscale Meteorology...You also have to take a Statistics class now that they got rid of Statistical Climatology..
