Boy some yall got to be hurtin' with him getting all that funding and **** built on campus. He just keeps getting stuff done in a tough environment for it.
Many decided, for reasons only known to them, that they were not going to like the hire, no matter what, from the start. They got out pitchforks and torches early on, blaming him for things that he could not have possibly influenced. At this point it looks like he has a relationship with our alumni that is positive for investment. This is his baby now and he has to prove he can right the ship in football and baseball. We shall see.

Starting with the 2023-2024 academic year (Selmon's first full year), the big three sports are 44-62 in SEC regular season play. That's not all on him, but ultimately, this is how he should be evaluated.

His contract has been extended, so he's got more time to do work. He got stuck with Arnett, & Lemonhead and Jans has been to the tourney every year. Bout to make a good hire for baseball if rumors are even remotely true.
Now, if he'll just add a bourbon bar to the stadium

We all know what you mean by that, so I'm just going to describe my own pitchfork and torch story.

I wanted Benko - period. I think he's one of those guys like Byrne who is dynamic enough to run the AD correctly AND properly fundraise. Selman came out of nowhere, actually turned us down, and Keenum had to beg. He was also hired for just run-of-the-mill alumni fundraising, which, in my opinion, is simply not enough at MSU. We need to get innovative, by going to former players and guys like Hardy. I liked what Benko did with Luke Bryan at GA Southern and thought he could do the same here. But I wanted somebody with that vision.

So my hatred ain't really with Selman, it's just that we ended up with a daisy fresh rookie who is doing the same shlt here he'd do at Oklahoma. And of course, that's born out by hiring a guy like Lebby, who is who he knew and just had a flashy resume. I would rather see a real plan in place for the whole AD, every program. And of course, Selman has tried to leave multiple times.

But he gets credit for going out and landing these donations and projects. And if he pulls the right baseball coach, that would go a long way in endearing him more to the fanbase.

And further, the fact that some big donors do appear to trust him, sort of blows up any race bait that a few on here perpetually try to throw around.

Having a winning season would also go a long way.

1. He's been here just over 2 years and his contract has been extended, when did that happen? I didn't see that anywhere.
2. He should have canned "Lemonhead" end of '23 after a last place finish in '22 and next to last in '23 and he wouldn't have been "stuck" with him.
3. Rumors are a dime a dozen and easy to start, there were rumors all over the LFL starting at Fridays game and Lemonis had only been gone 4 days. No way a search, interviews, replies to inquiries etc had happened. Anybody can throw a rumor out and when it doesn't happen still claim it was true but "the guy pulled his name" or some weak crap like that. The hire is what counts not the remotely true rumors

Get out with your thinly disguised false flag race-baiting bullsh!t. I thought Selmon was a great hire. I started really questioning that when he didn't fire Lemonis after the 2023 season, and I've been proved right on that. The quick trigger on Arnett was OK, butreplacing him with his buddy who at best isn't even an upgrade was another big question mark for me. He does get credit for the Zimmerman hire and for this facility.

Just read we are getting LED lights at Davis Wade. Maybe it's old news and I missed it.

Uuuh, name an Athletic Director who has stayed, lately. That’s part of State’s problem. Even one of our own left us for Florida. Everyone we have hired looked at our lack of funding and divisions, and said I’m out of here.

Every body on this board critizes Selmon. He’s raising money. He cut Arnett lose (he didn’t hire him). He cut Lemonis lose. I feel like others who don’t win will soon follow suit. It will take a minute to rebuild football and baseball. I hope Selmon can hang in there and see the program get better.

Yeah, pretty transparent and pretty stupid.

I wanted Benko too. And no Horshack, not because he's white.
I wasn't implying anything, despite having been vocal about that possibility in the past. My statement was me genuinely stepping back from assuming a person's reasoning. However, given my past posts on the subject, your response is a reasonable assumption.

Benko is a Cohen crony who had no success at GA Southern and ran back to him with his tail tucked at Auburn. Selmon is stuck putting out the fires that Cohen started. John Cohen, Rhett Hobart, Leah Beasley, and Benko should never allowed on our campus again unless they are apart of an opponents entourage. What they did to our AD was criminal negligence

It's because he played football at Wake Forest, isn't it? ***
