If it's arena, and the MS Coliseum would serve beer, I'll be a season ticket holder, no questions asked.

If we get an arena football team here, I will start pushing hard for a lingerie football team... HARD!

That's awesome. Having Mike Espy on the team= awesome.

I've seen the old Tupelo Fireants, and it was a memorable experience.

Arena football would work in Jackson.

But their logo looks like a cross between Jackson Prep and Ole Miss. What's with the M? There's no "M" in Jackson or Patriots.

1) Who the 17 is making their bush-league website? Definitely questioning the legitimacy of this venture.

2) Beer sales is definitely a must for success... but I also think it is also a must for them to strive to comprise the team of players from Mississippi or with Mississippi ties. Since they are holding open tryouts, I guess it will basically only be made of Mississippi players.

3) The pics from that "micro-combine" look pathetic... I don't know if some of those guys even started for their highschool teams.
3b) Is JohnDawg going to make the next tryout?

4) If season tickets are $25.50.... what the hell are single-game tickets going to cost?

5) As long as they serve beer, I'm ecstatic about this team!

the good news is that if you buy season tickets, you get an autograph from the owner/coach/trainer/equipment mgr/bus driver/waterboy Thomas Leonard. i'm putting mine on Ebay. i mean, its got to be worth the $2 i can charge for shipping.

Its already cooked before it has even started. I have stared at this thread for three days and have been hesitant to post something negative because I am a Jacksonian and I would love to see something cool in Jackson. But seriously? This is the Jackson Patriots? To the guy that posted the info, you should look at the concerns posted on this board. I even question whether anyone outside of this message board has any idea about this team, so you should have time to figure out the kinks in the plan and fix them. As soon as I saw the website and the logo, I knew this was fail material. Take that into consideration.

This kinda pisses me off!!! I have been living in Mississippi my whole life. I have been all around the U.S. playing the greatest sports ever. (football) I always thought that it would be a great idea for Jackson to have a semi pro team to try and help some of the younger players get to the next level because we have some great talent in this area alone. BUT when you have people like on here for example that gripe about how a teams web site or logo looks or if they are gonna sale beer so they can show off there finely tuned over lapping beer belly's instead of actually supporting a team that is trying so make a difference in a drowning city supporting a game that I absolutely love. It just goes to show you and me that there is no PRIDE in this place. Instead of whining about "WHY is there an M on the logo instead of a J" Get up and go support something that might actually make this city and others like it, something to to be proud of!!! Its starts with you lil fella!!!

you bump a 2 month old thread with your first post, and I'm not even going to get into the actual postwith you other than seems like you're overreactingjust a little bit.Where did you come from? Are you on the team? How did you find out about the thread? Did you just happen upon it reading 2 months worth of posts? </p>

you seem to be confusing semi pro football with college football... One is actually preparing people for the "next level" while the other is hastily thrown together for a year or two to mildly entertain the 500 people that don't realize the logo doesnt actually represent the team.

You bring the heat though and I am looking forward to watching your career on SPS evolve.

Kinda contradict's here, lived here your whole life, but been all over the US playing football, but I will bite.Whats your name, who have you played for? Were you YOUHATEME from the XFL, I think that was the name!

I thought that was what college football was for? Play in college, get drafted, play (in Ed Orgeron's voice) FOOTBALL!! If you weren't good enough in college, do like the rest, get a job, move on. If you were in prison, chance's are I could give a rats *** about watching you, already got to watch Dante and look how that turned out, unless you were on the Mean Machine team I just don't care!
Its starts with you lil fella!!!
How big a boy are ya? haha Get a 17'n life, it's dicks like you that will make this fail.

I'm not trying to evolve my career into something else. I have played at the highest level possible. No I don't play for the team. All I'm basically saying is why down something that may be a good idea for a city? I found the post by this new and quite helpful invention. Maybe you've heard of it. GOOGLE? you should try it sometime, Its good stuff.
