Reading a facebook status update...Rachael Ray is doing 2 shows in Jackson today and apparently in the 1:00 show, the lights went out. I guess that's better than the clock shot malfunctioning.

...that private investors bought the site and plan to bulldoze it to make way for a new one.

That should be held at the Convention Center.

That said, the Colesium is an eye sore, an embarassment, and now that the King Edward has been rebuilt, a symbol of all that is wrong about Jackson.

It's a symbol of what Jackson could be if the proper people invest and make good decisions with the city.

The King Edward went from a dump and a haven for prostitutes to an upscale apartment building downtown

was offered a toke on the biggest joint I've ever seen by a 7 ft tall black chick in that building. They can bulldoze it. There is nothing left for me to experience there.

They have a fraction as much state government per capita as we do, particularly in the number of legislators. Their legislature meets every 2 years instead of every year. In the 10 years I lived there, their legislature never had a special session and certainly not one over the state budget.

But today, I bring you this...

It is the Garden Inn, but they have some of the floors set away for condo space that is actually really nice. However, Im not sure I would have any reason to live there since absolutely nothing around it right now.

I dont know anything about what the King Edward use to be or how it looked, but this place is pretty sweet, unlike the rest of the block that it is on.</p>
