And I really can't believe people would even suggest we'd be paying to get Hardy back. I'm going to bet that a 3rd round pick would receive somewhere in the neighborhood of $1M in a signing bonus, plus a certain amount of a guaranteed contract. It would be really hard for a college to match that kind of money. Think before you post.

The Ole Miss money is guaranteed though. He was taking a chance on the round. He made the smart choice. You always take the sure money.

No, he probably came back because he is a 1st round talent with a 3rd round projection based on the fact that he played a lot of the year injured.

You act like the only reason he would come back would be because we would be paying him. You've got one thing right. It is probably about money, NFL money. We couldn't pay him nearly as much as he stands to make if he comes back and plays a full year of healthy football.

I'm sure we paid Patrick Willis to come back as well, and I'm sure that he's more excited about the $50K we gave him to come back than the $10M or so that he made himself by coming back to play one more year.

The #2 pick, Calvin Johnson, signed for 6 year deal for $64 million with $27.2 million guaranteed. That is an average of $10.66 million a year.

The #32 and final first round draft pick, Anthony Gonzalez, signed a 5 year contract for $10.3 million with $5.4 million guaranteed. That is an average of $2.06 million a year.

that if his decision was based on money, why not take the 3rd round NFL signing bonus for > &1,000,000.00. Even if we payed the kid Albert Means money, that would still be 20% of (or less than) his signing bonus. The argument holds no water. That being said, did the kid get payed? Highly likely......just like all these other 17ers playing for SEC schools.....I just don't think that's why he came back.
