I'm too lazy to start a new thread for this: Asher Cunningham won King of the Mountain and was named OW. Dalton Perry took 2nd.

Perry MFF out of the finals. That's a shame, because he would've faced returning state finalist Reagan Milheim, who's ranked #1 in PA AA. Perry beat Milheim 7-4 last year. Would've been a great matchup.

Cunningham beat anOSU commit Nick Kunstek in the finals 7-2. This was likely a state finals preview. Kunstek last year was 34-1 and ranked #1 in PA AAA, but was ineligible for the postseason due to PIAA transfer rules. The year before, he was 4th at National Preps for Blair. Major win for Cunningham.

Lilledahl loses to DeShazer 4-1. DeShazer wins on 2 pushouts, a shot clock violation and a caution point against Lilledahl for fleeing the mat. Luke scored in a shot clock violation. Honestly DeShazer did nothing but block and hold position the whole time. Never opened up and attempted any offense. The shot clock point against Luke was a joke as was the fleeing the mat caution, because that’s the way momentum was taking both wrestlers. I could tell Luke was frustrated at the end because of DeShazer’s unwillingness to really wrestle. Luke still has one more match to qualify for the olympic trials.

Facundo throws Berger for 4 pt move, wins 4-1. To Oly Trials. Jerk Berger does not shake hands. He’s a loser

Facundo 4-1 over Tyler Berger in Consi Semis. Facundo scores on a 4 point move. 2nd Period - Berger was in on a shot, looked like he was going to score, but Facundo gets a chest wrap and takes it feet to back for 4. Facundo stayed aggressive and was close to giving up a turn off of a headpinch toward the end, but fights it off for the win. He punches his ticket to the olympic trials. Will wrestle for 3rd place later today.

I have looked around but couldn’t find anything, any info on why Kerk, Truax and Kasak didn’t go? Was Especially excited to see Kerk as I thought he would crush 125 here.

Beau loses to Alirez 0-8. Alirez gets a high single, transitions to a leg lace for two turns to go up 6-0 in the first. Then gets a slide by for 2 more in the second. Beau with shots from space, but couldn’t quite get there. Alirez looked bigger and longer, and the length seemed to be the difference. Beau finishes 2nd and qualifies for the olympic trials.

What a shame. The Iowa “faithful” always applauded Marinelli’s head-hands/headbutt/pushout style and scream for pushouts in folk style. Yet, in freestyle, it still isn’t effective for him.

Also for the Iowa “fans” on the board, Not So Big Cass vs teammate Warner in their 5the place final. Warner takes a note from Austin DeSanto, yelling “ouch!” in pain as he’s about to be tech’d in a leg lace. The official stops the match and miraculously, Warner jumps to his feet immediately ready to restart with no sign of injury. (A Christmas miracle I suppose). However, he is taken down in short order and Cass wins by TF.
